Sad Day in Rockets history but it was time for a new direction

 

Daryl, you're a big reason I'm such a huge fan of the Rockets. Love the analytical approach - I'm a spreadsheet warrior myself. PLEASE STAY IN HOUSTON! I hear the Texans need a GM... NFL is slower to catch up on analytics so there are some inefficiencies you could capitalize on!

 

I'm gutted, I knew one day it was going to happen but I never thought it would be this soon. Thanks Daryl, for getting us in the mix, keeping us interesting and really helping evolve the game through the front office. You got haters because you were doing something right that they never understood, and some of us loved you because you took the risks no one wanted to take. I may have not agreed with everything you've done but I trusted you all the way. Wishing you the best in your next stop but honestly, Goddamnit man, couldn't you have at least stuck it out for at least another season? (whenever that may be?!) A sad day for sure but am thankful for the years.

Thank you Daryl for coming to a franchise that didn’t win a first round playoff series in 10 years before you came, and since then had made it out the first round 6 times, with 2 of those being Western Conference Finals appearances, which the Rockets haven’t been to since 1996-97 before you came.

Thank you for taking a chance on James Harden, when people thought you were insane to build around a 22 year old 6th man, who disappeared in the NBA Finals.

Sucks that injuries to your superstars possibly cost you 2 NBA titles and validation for your vision.

Godspeed on your next journey.

Really disappointing to see him leave the team. Always believed he was making decisions to help the franchise, even when those decisions went against the grain.

 

No one can accuse you of not trying but it got outta hand! You're a great visionary! ... But like I got in a termination letter years ago - 'Good luck in your future endeavors'

Good for you Daryl for getting out while you can under this shitstorm. Many of us knew the signs were coming once Tilman became owner and all the trash decisions hes made for the last 2 years

 

Writing is on the wall for this franchise. What a disappointment.
