Who's the better player? Who would you rather have? If a AB/DC swap was somehow possible, would you wanna do it? For me, this would be a pretty hard decision as AB has been great for us and played very well with KMart. He can also play the 2 with Lowry as he is one of the best SCORING pgs in the league. Lowry and Brooks make up for each others differences, Lowry is pass first, brooks is not.. which I'm fine with cause we have Lowry. Collision is also pass first, so you can't really play them together (KL and DC) like Adelman loves to do with brooks. DC is also a good scorer but not the same three shooter (AB led the league) and just doesn't have that same explosiveness and quickness to the basket (not AS good). I think we'd lose that score/pass 'never lose a beat' pg dynamo that I think is the second best after cp3 and dc. I just think we need that almost shoot first/sg mentality starting pg with Lowry as our backup. So I said AB only by a little. Idk, maybe it's just because my brain can't think of parting with AB, but Collision just isn't enough to let go of AB, there's a reason we traded Rafer. Nor do I think Darren is an UPGRADE at the position, or to the team, because I don't believe he's the better player, he hasn't proved himself a better player. When he leads the league in 3s and is the MIP, then we'll talk. I don't know, this could even be a Brooks appreciation thread, but mainly I just wanted to know what you think about the comparison.. don't see people talking about it. I've been wanting to know, but didn't wanna waste space.. but when the Kyle Lowry thread went 5 pages, lol i had to do it. So, what do you think?
I think this thread is a waste of space and should be locked up. Collision and AB are not even remotely linked. "this could even be a Brooks appreciation thread" lol, This could even be a ****loaded thread too.
Lol rookie, you're pretty funny.. Whats wrong, pissed off you can't make threads? And how are they not remotely linked? Please explain, jackass.
Whoa, don't hate on clutchfans. I was just wondering, since you're the only one saying they're not anywhere close, what you're thinking was. So, once again, please explain.. just asking.
i scooped up collison on fantasy last year when cp3 was out, the dude put up 16, 18, 20 assists a night, constantly. that said, for this team i'd prob take brooks. make no mistake though, DC is going to blow up once him and Chris Paul go their seperate ways.
Collison put up his stats in just half a season in his ROOKIE year. Way too small a sample size to take him over Brooks just yet. What I like about Brooks is that his scoring ability is elite level already. Not many players (even superstar ones) have his speed, explosiveness and shooting touch. His D has already reached average levels, so you can definitely augment it by surrounding him with the right players. With Collison though, I'm not sure if his stats are more a product of him being the focus of the entire team. Let's not forget even with Collison putting up these nice numbers NO continually lost games. He could just be another Juwon Howard stat-padder for all we know. So unless Collison can duplicate it this year he isn't at Brooks' level yet.
Brooks by far if we were talking about who is the better SG. Collison by far if we are talking about who is the better PG.
collison has a chance to become a star. brooks is more of a scorer and that's mostly it (albiet he's a pretty damn good scorer and shooter). collison has a much higher ceiling. he can be an all-star PG if he continues to improve himself.
Collison will be good, REAL good. If he played 35+ min last season as a rookie, he'd probably average close to a double double. Collison takes my vote. It'd be no contest if they were playing for 3 years already.
Collison. Easy choice... The OP says that Brooks can play the 2. Well Collison can play the 1&2 on offense AND defense. Brooks can't even guard the 1 or 2(consistently). So unless his rookie year was just "beginner's luck", you would have to choose Collison.
I think both players suit their respective teams. Rockets need AB0's long range shot to spread the court, while collison is the best option as a back up for cp3.
The fact that Collison could be special means that the Hornets might be forced to trade Paul down the line,NO isn't big enough for the two of them.
His per in games started is better than brooks. Brook's Per isn't even among the top 15 in the league.
