i'll i can say is damn. i guess i got caught up in the whole superbowl madness or whatever although i'm not really a football fan... just basketball and baseball. anyway, i got the "money burning a whole in my pocket" feeling and went crazy the last couple of days. 400 bucks in a span of 2 and a half days. i'm sure that i didn't spend as much as some... sooooooo, how much did the rest of you spend? <---- question of the thread. i feel bad going to places and not spending money and with me going all around town trying to spot the stars, i went to A LOT of places therefore spending a lot of money. the funny thing is (well not funny to me) is that i just caught a quick glimpse of one celeb... jay-z at the galleria at some store with the words "bank" and "biddle" in the store name. arghhhh can't believe and went through all of that damn traffic to get there (about an hour and a half once i exited southwest freeway at chimney rock). clothes, cds, nightclubs, food, coffee (man... f*** starbucks. that stuff adds up pret-ty quick. by the way, if anybody has any suggestions for a cheap coffee shop with a nice, laid-back atmosphere... please let me know). soooo, anybody else with a pocket full of lint and buttons? if not, could you spare some change?
100 bucks on the drinks and foods. 40 bucks on all the parkings, transportations. 40 bucks on the fan gears. and extra 20 for the stripers
I stayed the hell away from it all and saved my money. I don't put as much stock in getting autographs as I used to.
Maybe $60 . . . I think I only bought one beer downtown -- Other people hooked me up for the others. The biggest expense was at City Streets, where we watched the game today. $10 to get in, and I spent $12 on drinks. Didn't go to any exclusive parties or anything -- didn't want to spend that much cash . . .
i just spent about about $1,500 so that my girlfriend and I can go to the caribbean on our last spring break. that pretty much means ill be living off ramen for the next few months. not that ramen is bad, of course.
Uh, I think it's from a Notorious B. I. G. rap music song. And I believe that it is referring to his various "monies". Although I could be mistaken.
I didn't spend ANY money this weekend. I'm getting ready to buy a house. The last thing I need to be doing right now is blowing money on alcohol. BTW, I didn't get to go to the game. I was supposed to be one of the volunteers setting up the stage for halftime, but I didn't pass the background check. Apparently, a speeding ticket is enough for them to pass on you.
I went to Houston last night (Sat) and only spent about 40bucks. We did the park n ride, but that turned out to be a mistake. We practically walked the entire city around 3am to find the shuttles to take us to some other stop where the buses would take us to hillcroft Park n Ride. The beers in downtown were like 5 bucks a piece. The city was too crowded for my taste. It must have been awesome if I was able to get into a major party. I heard that 3 people were shot in downtown last night during the festivities. When I was at the portable toilets i heard guys talking about it.
I agree w/ you Uprising -- it was too crowded for me too. And it got a little boring, not getting into any parties or anything. I have only been to one other event that compares to this at all (Fiesta Oysterbake in SA), but it's on a smaller scale. I'd say it was "okay", not great. Too crowded, not enough bathrooms sometimes, the rail was PACKED. But it was still cool, and it was going to be packed, no matter what . . . I wouldn't be surprised about the shootings. I was waiting in this line for a sausage on a stick for like 45 minutes (after 10 minutes the only reason I stayed is because I'd invested so much time into it), and these two people walked up to the front (without waiting in line) and got food, so the lady in front of me went crazy. She started yelling at them and then grabbed the woman's sausage (wow, does this sound odd), and they started fighting and yelling at eachother, and I jumped in, telling them to calm down, it's not the end of the world. After that, I split, figured it wasn't worth it any more . . . Then later, we were walking by this one section, and the crowd separated as these two groups of people were pushing at eachother, then it broke up too.
OS, I thought you lived in Atlanta or something? Did you come to town for the Superbowl or am I just wrong on that?
He moved back. nWo, don't you still live in Dallas? It got some of my money, but not much. $20 or so yesterday at Sherlocks. Probably bought more beer at the store yesterday than usual, but I would've done that had the Super Bowl been here or anywhere else. Outside of that, all the "partying" I did the last week or so wasn't abnormal.
$300 on Rockets tickets/food at the game $160 Thursday $200 Friday $200 Saturday $80 Sunday $330 New leather jacket $120 Kenneth Cole dress slacks $75 Kenneth Cole dress shirt Total: $1465
Exactly Vengeance, I almost wished there would have been more cops around in some of the areas. Around 2:30am it got a little freaky out there. I also got kind of bored while at downtown.
No no no....he's either talking about the Christian Rock Band, or the guys that spray the lines on the roads.
