Is anybody else watching this right now? I still don't know what to think, but I can't believe that the novelty of a blind detective will carry this show for very long. If you don't care to see this, I may have at least one reason for you to tune in. Rena Sofer, who had her own thread a while back, plays the main character's wife. I didn't recognize her in the commercials, but I saw her face at the beginning of the ep and looked it up just in case to make sure.
I can tell this show is gonna get canned soon, a blind detective is just not gonna do it for a show. i can usually tell if a show is gonna last or not, sometimes from the title, for example if a show is named after the lead actor then it will probaly suck and get cancelled. Ex. the geena davis show, the michael richards show, the bette midler show. It means the it sucks so bad they cant even come up with a good title for it.
Seinfeld did ok. Cosby Show seemed to have a decent run. But yea, a show about a blind detective is gonna crash and burn like the Chevy Chase show.
Seinfeld, Cosby Show, Roseanne, Frasier (named after the character not the actor but still) The show had its moments though...wasn't too bad really. But I don't see it sustaining a long run. Not enough material there.
I'm going to pitch a show idea to the major networks but I figured I'd run it by you guys first. It's about a hip teen named Artie McSly who travels through time in a special flying Lamborghini created by his brilliant but eccentric friend, Doc Black. The working title right now is "The William Hung Show," but obviously that could change if he turns the project down.
