They should have traded him when his value was through the roof 2 seasons ago. Paul George was going to replace him eventually.
Dirk....K-Love....Stoudemire....Granger...Kobe is questionable...Rose is out...Dwight is questionable... So many stud players on the mend and the season hasn't even started!
Hibbert, West, Gerald Green, Paul George, George Hill. it'll be balanced offense with a lot of ball movement and heavy focus on offensive boards, just like last year. But it will hurt, indeed.
I hope it won't take long though. His knee was supposed to be in pain to start the season. He bumped knees last year and had a form of "the Kobe treatment" to make it heal faster. It was supposed to hurt for a while until scar tissue breaks apart. I hope they are simply being cautious. "Indefinite" doesn't always mean "prolonged". I thought so too a couple years ago. I wanted them to do what Houston did this year. But back then, Paul George and Hibbert looked like scrubs. And the organization was bleeding money. So they couldn't afford to be bad. Small market for the loss. Now, I wouldn't want them to trade Granger. Paul George had the most success defending little guys - shooting guards, even point guards. The main value in Paul George right now is that he's the biggest natural SG in the league. I think if you don't have a legit top 20 guy, then the only chance to have to even smell the title is to have a very strong identity and great fits. The Pacers right now are huge, mobile, physical. Take Granger away and move Paul George to 3, that identity is severely damaged.
