If I hear one more b**** or moan from this guy about "these guys should play defense" during the freakin' rookie all star game, I'm going to puke.

I'm guessing that fans didn't tune in to coverage of the game to hear the TNT announcer badmouth the style of play that is supposed to just be fun. I'm wondering just how fond the NBA is of him COMPLAINING THE WHOLE TIME!

    Very entertaining...you jackass!

I dunno, it didn't really bother me. Most of it was in jest.

And in all fairness, that play was getting SLOPPY in the first half. I mean, I don't mind no defense, it's exciting and expected in this game - but at least take care of the ball.

    I thought it was funny.

Danny Ainge, telling people how to play in an All-Star game.

I'm going to go down to my local hospital and tell the surgeons how to perform random surgeries.

Come on, Jeff...you don't think it was getting a LITTLE out of hand with the lack of defense in the first half? Geez, those 80's Nuggets teams played better defense than those guys. They didn't even step in front of guys when they were driving down the lane. It got better in the second half, though...

Did anybody see Arenas bounce it off that dude's head on the last play? I'm sorry, kidding or not, I would have decked him if he did that to me on national TV...

I thought it was kinda distasteful.......on a pickup game, And one game....it's ok, but it looks stupid in an NBA game.

It was Jason Richardson, not Arenas.

Now that's just wrong, but I remember Moochie doing that off somebody's head during the off-season and laughing my butt off....

Boozer wasn't very happy about it. When interviewed after the game he said Richardson has "no class."

I was about sick of listening to all of them besides Kevin Harlan by the end of the night. They sit there and over-analyze every little thing, from the 3 on 3 to the 3 point competition.

I mean, a guy would take 2 shots off the first rack, and they'd be like 'he's out', or 'he has no rythm'.

And in the rookie game, they've never played defense. It's basically just a dunk/alley-oop contest. Yet every year, we listen to the commentators such as Ainge whine about defense the whole game, instead of enjoying the athleticism. Someone please tell me he won't be doing the big game tomarrow.

Oh, and another thing. Charles, we don't really care that Wesley Person went to Auburn.

Fortunately Boozer didn't overreact although calling Richardson "classless" was weak. It was a streetball move, nothing personal, no harm done other than hurting poor Boozer's feelings. I guess Richardson should have known people who played college ball at Duke are not likely to follow street ball.

    1. I like Ainge, but I think expecting defense in an AS game is silly. Maybe even not-smart, since you don't want injuries.

    2. Boozer had every right to be angry. He was guarding a smaller player on the perimeter. He had to concentrate on stopping the penetration. He's not going to be expecting a move like that, and he shouldn't have to. The move showed no class.

The whole thing was done in jest. Ainge complaining about defense, Barkley raving about Wesley Person bringing the 3pt shootout "Home to Auburn" was all in good fun. If the broadcasters stopped joking for the All-Star game and called it down the middle people would say it was boring. I mean on one hand people are ripping Ainge for being to serious and complaining about defense, on the other hand people are ripping Barkley for joking about Person winning the 3pt shootout "for Auburn". I just sat back and enjoyed it, the broadcasters were pretty funny, especially Ernie and Magic Johnson doing the celebrity game.

    It was Danny Ainge?

Anyways, the rookie game was nice.

And yeah, Arenas and Richardson can looks the same kinda...from far away.

And when Richardson threw the ball off of the guy's head...on the replay..he didn't blink or look mad at all. He didn't react. Weird...

The move that Richardson made was friggin hilarious. I'm just glad he made the 3pt shot after bouncing it off his head. That is really hard to do, since he was probably laughing as he shot it.

Don't worry though, JRich will get his punishment the next time Golden State plays Cleveland. Until then, Richardson can laugh all he wants.
