Does anybody think this guy can have an NBA career?

I used to think he was way over-rated but he has hung in there and gotten more and more solid. He can shoot; he makes very few mistakes. He plays some defense.

Going to be small for a SG, and I don't think has the skills of a PG. I'd give him a tryout for sure, but not draft him unless it was one of the last picks in the 2nd round.

My thoughts on Ewing from last night:

    He's a mid-to-late 2nd rounder type, could go undrafted.

I would consider comparing him to maybe a David Wesley - he's not as strong as Wesley, but he's an undersized 2 with some scoring ability, and he used his above average athleticism to help make up for size deficiencies on the defensive end. He has pretty good handles as well.

He had a pretty good looking shot, but was fairly shot happy, though some was at the end trying to force things. Definitely not a PG by any stretch (think Mobley), but I could see him in an NBA rotation.

Being on the small side and scoring ability may be the only comparisons I see to Wesley. Wesley IMO is a lot quicker and hence better defender than Ewing, though anyone could improve.

Ewing is no doubt a good shooter, we've known that since his Willowridge days. He may be able to crack the NBA as a Eddie House-lite player, but with better decision making. I don't see him as being able to get his own shot off a la Mobley, or handle the ball well enough to be a PG. Defintely a 2nd rounder, if anything.

I'll try and stay unbiased as the Dukie I am....

I see him very much being a Juan Dixion like player (if he makes it at all........Dixion got drafted by his hometown Wizards like 19th in the 1st rd IIRC). He plays tough D, he absolutley must to play for Coach K. He isn't a great shooter, but, when he gets left open off double teams, he'll knock it down. His best aspect without question is his ability to take the ball to the rack.
While he is not a PG (watching those games when Dockery was out......wow. When Ewing ran point, I'd cringe). I think if he worked on it, he could handle the ball better and be a backup PG.
    Just my opinion anyway.
