It's Hollywood. They're all acts. It's all fake.

Whatever you think about Larry the Cable Guy, the best career move he ever made was to become a hypocritical, phoney, redneck fake. Because that "Grandma walking on her butt" material wasn't going to take him anywhere.

Lol. I'm petty sure, I'd have a much tougher time pulling off a Southern white boy routine than most.

Talented people don't need to make up a fake persona to be funny.

His act sucks but you can't deny his success at going the fake the country redneck route. Frankly I fail to see the difference between any of the black comedians who were raised in good homes making jokes about the ghetto and how tough it was. Both of those acts are tired out.

Trust me, comics have done a LOT worse that act like a redneck for a laugh. If it pays the bills, that I don't see anything wrong with it. I'll admit that I've laughed at some LTCG stuff. The REAL genius on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour is Ron White, though. God knows why Jeff Foxworthy gets top billing when Ron White blows all three of them away...

Actually I think watching that clip, it felt more like a red neck trying to hide his country roots.

Well considering that he grew up in Nebraska where they supposedly have the most indistinct accent in the US (that's why a lot of customer service reps are based out of the midwest), and seeing that Nebraska isn't in the South, I don't think that's true.

I partly agree with that. Although I'm going to say I haven't seen worse (the only bad comic stereotype pandering I've seen on par with LTCG is Wanda Sykes and Dat Phan..)

Ron White is the funniest. But that's because he's the most genuine. He doesn't alter his material to pander to a certain niche, he doesn't do lame "offensive for shock value" comedy either..

Yeah, but his crack on Dane Cook just reeks of jealousy. So Dane caters to his fans? Big deal. I thought that's what you're supposed to do. And didn't Cross just finish bragging about how smart and cultured his audiences are?
    Whatever.
