Interesting is all I can say. If Langhi is traded, does anyone think he will get more PT on another team?? And can we get anyone worth something for him??

I almost forgot about him, I knew this day would come. He never did fit in our plans.

I want to keep him because of his height, it'll come in handy at times.

The truth is, we won't be able to get anything for Langhi straight up...We'd have to package at least a draft pick or another player to get anything worthwhile for him...

I'm just not sure he fits Houston now especially with Morris here and even with Torres who played some 3 tonight in the 3 guard rotation...

I think he'll be traded if not to help him out... Probably a later thing than sooner...

Rice and Walt are injury proned so an opening could still rise up later in the season...

I don't think there are many takers right now but wait til the trade deadline every team always likes to add a shooter and thats what he is a shooter.... NOT A DEFENSIVE PLAYER at all...

SAME SITUATION LIKE MATT BULLARD!!!!!!! LOL, Matt did not fit in the team so we found him a place to play, Langhis is just like Matt and we probably are going to do the same thing.:D

I called this in another thread a week ago.

I think Dan can be a good player in the league, but he does not fit in with this team any more.

If I were him, I would ask to be released.

Heck, I might even make a stink and say, I am not injured at all.

Force the Rockets hand, if they don't do anything quickly for him.

Dan can play, but not from the bench.

Bye, bye Dan. Wish you luck in making a team next season. You're good enough, we're just too talented at 3...

    (too talented at 3???)

Given the group of SFs that came into the league last year, I can't think of a single place in the NBA that could play Langhi... except for maybe rebuilding teams like the Spurs or the Heat.

DaDakota, I agree w/ the 'demand' scenario. It's one thing to be in the 12... hidden away on the IR is another matter. He's not going to displace Mobley, OT, WW, GR or TMo. His career here is over.

If all else fails, he could rip it up for the Lowcountry Gators in the NBDL. :)

He looks like he could use a few helpings of shrimp and grits.

This doesn't bother me at all. Honestly, I never really understood what everyone saw in Langhi. If he was all that, he'd be on the active roster right now-Rudy T knows what he's doing. If he's genuinely talented enough to be in the league, he should be afforded the right to play.

Does anyone remember what the Rocks traded to get Langhi? I know it was with Dallas, but I can't remeber what they gave up. I'm hoping it is at most an extra 2nd round pick.

Man, HeyPisser's team takes it up the ass again...this time the hardest.

Good luck Dan and your big neck.

I am pretty sure it was Najera. Dan I think can be a good player in the future, but I highly doubt any team is going to give us anything worthwhile for him. I say we just release the poor guy and hopefully some team picks him up.

I think we gave up a 2nd rounder in 2001 for Dan, which they used on a guard which they then gave us in the Glen Rice, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley trade. And THEN the kid immediately signed with a European team.

Also, as part of the Langhi trade, we drafted Najara for them and then swapped the picks. Naraja isn't getting playing time either.

Yes, but we lost two second rounders in the deal. Dallas only lost one ;).

That said, it wasn't a bad deal at the time. Langhi was hyper-productive in college and we needed a long-term solution at the 3.

    Dan Langhi... NBDL all-star?

It's sort of strange. While Hakeem was in his prime, Houston had some really mediocre talent surrounding him. If he'd had the same talent surrounding him that Stevie has, I think Houston would have something like four titles.

Langhi was exactly the type of player that prospered on those Hakeem teams. Didn't need to have the ball constantly, but could hit the open 3. I think we drafted him with the Hakeem-oriented offense still in mind. And now... well... you won't find that anywhere outside of LA or SA. I think SA might be his best bet once they realize that Bowen can't shoot.

It is too bad Langhi couldn't find a way to crack into the starting lineup, but with a logjam at the three, its no suprise. I really like Dan though, and I hope wherever he ends up he'll be happy. :)

How about Langhi to Seattle for Olumide Oyediji? Not that Dan will get much PT backing up Lewis and Radmanovich but at least we'd have another 6'10" Nigerian on the Rockets.
