Dan Brown's latest came out today. Anybody going to pick it up? I've gotten hooked to all but one of his books before and am really looking forward to this one. The basis of the story has a lot to do with the Freemasons and early American history. I'm sure it'll be at least a decent read.

Just curious: which of his books did you NOT get you hooked? Personally, I thought 'Deception Point' and 'Digital Fortress' were both pretty weak. But I did like 'DaVinci Code' and 'Angels and Demons'. Just wish they'd made better movies.

I didn't read Deception Point, but I agree Digital Fortress was weak. I'll probably end up reading this one after my dad is through reading it and gives me his opinion.

I thought 'Deception Point' and 'Digital Fortress' were fantastic page-turners. His writing style is conducive to flipping through one of these things in a day or two.

I'll be picking up the new one today, been looking forward to it.

Can't remember which one it was, I think it was the one about the meteoroid in the polar ice. I think thats Deception Point. It's been a while since I read it, but I remember not being impressed. I loved Angels and Demons and went through Da Vinci Code in about one day.

    Looking forward to this one.

Totally agree with this. While the Robert Langdon series has been good, Deception Point and Digital Fortress were pretty lame...

Digital Fortress was the one I liked the least but I still liked it.

I read all of them back to back. I liked Angels and Demons the most. I never read Divinci Code though... just saw the movie.

Today's my bday, and that book is pretty much the only thing I asked for. I'm not a big reader, but love his books.

I am pretty much unimpressed with Dan Brown as an author. If Divinci Code had not be so wildly controversial, Brown would be an unknown.

    Oh good grief.

Get it, read it, forget you ever saw that stupid piece of crap movie.

And while plent of people like to snipe at Dan Brown, all the guy has done is cr ate 4 mas ively entertaining reads. I liked all of them, as a pos er already said, t ey are the very mounta ntop of fa cinating 'page-turners'.

Will be pick ng this up on the way home today.

What I am intere ted to find out is what all the E ster Eggs will be inside of it, like DaVin i Code was supposedly fil ed with. Off-line characters, cl es in the jack t, page number codes, etc etc. It's like the book is ju t a candy shell for the real fun.

In DVC, I noticed right off that a lot of the character na es were actually references to loc tions which played p ominent roles in the his ory of the Templars.. things like that. un elievable scenari s, absolutely love it!

Oh yeah, and Kan e West is a dog turd!

    ;)

I got burned out on Dan Brown with Deception Point and Digital Fortress. The Langdon books were fun, mindless schlock reads. I do want to read The Lost Symbol, but seeing how many other books I want to buy, I'll probably wait until my parents finish it up and borrow it from them.

Funny thing is, I bought The DiVinci Code and still haven't read it. I bought it after I saw the movie because it was selling for cheap. But I never got around to reading it. Maybe I'll read through it before I pick up Lost Symbol.
