Miami radio is reporting Jones will sign with Miami tomorrow. No link, as it's on the radio.

Ouch. This could be a double blow. First not signing Jones, and second because he isn't going to Seattle that mean the Daniels deal might be off.

I'm praying CD's got something cooking, but is just keeping it on the downlow.

Not sure I understand that either. Seems to me that $2.5 with raises for 3 or 4 years wouldn't be a bad deal after seeing the other deals going down for marginal talent.

CD maybe thinking howmuch better is Jones than Lue and Gaines. Maybe Gaines is showing some off seasone improvement and they think he is a better option than locking up a James or Jones type player for several Years.

And the Bucks just signed Mike James, so he's out of the possiblities.

I am afraid our starting PG would be Charlie Ward. Damn CD is senile.

If he signs with them, we're screwed.

Still, I think we could get Daniels if we fork over Lue, and then look for a backup in the FA market (Travis Best?). I'd be fine with a Daniels/Best PG rotation.

It looks like Doc was right when he said our new point guard might be a total surprise. I certainly have no idea who it is going to be.

I have a bad feeling that our starting PG next year will be Charlie Ward.

I can live with CWard starting or even T.Lue for a year or so...

Guys, I'd rather get TMac and Yao done long term in the next few years than worry about what PG will start...

Who cares, who ever is the starting PG will have one simple job give the ball to TMac or Yao and take open shots...

I'm more interested is a decent backup big man that can give Yao some rest time, maybe sit a game or so sometimes...

    A) If true the Heat got a good deal seeing as they aready gave half their MLE to Doleac. Mike James, and apparently Jones, went for very reasonable price tags.

    B) Also, if true that now Jones is gone as well as James, surely the Rockets do have plans in the works, perhaps only invoked past 60 days when Howard, Gaines and Lue can be included in deals. Probably Howard would be the one (Daniels + James OR McInnis + something for Howard + possible some of the TE or something to that effect). Or perhaps another team has to wait for a similar period before trading a guard to us for the TE.

    C) Now if we don't reallly have such plans, and we let the TE expire and we don't use the MLE for guys like Jones or James who could really help us for reasonable deals, that is depressing as a Rocket fan. That would be such a waiste of an oppertunnity by our ownership/management with an unmatched pair of players going into next season, especially given last years cheapo offseason which otherwise could be thrown out because title talk truly was premature.

James and Jones are both younger and better than Ward, and ditto for the wildly inconsistent Sura. If Jones signs tomarrow, I gotta believe we have much bigger aspirations than the solid Jones, or the solid James, the best two remaining FA 1s as of this week.

Has everybody already forgotten about Mr. 50th pick in the draft?

Lets be honest, it is about a 1/4 or 1/5 chance either Spanoulis or Gaines becomes a quality NBA starting or top notch back-up PG. It is good to hope, but we should not count on either, particularly next year.
