there should be a way to get out of your contract for that reason alone. BTW theres a whole thread about this in the GARM, its rated 5 stars. I used to have dish and i canceled it for only 10 bucks a month fee. THen they never charged my Credit Card or let me know about it and it went straight to collections. So I hate dish and would like it to go out of business.
I feel ya. Also, this is the 3rd Dish DVR that has broken in 9 months. Everything that I have recorded over the past month because I've been too busy to watch is lost. I hate Dish more than the Jazz, Lakers, and Heat combined!
I was forced into Dish because that's the only company my internet/phone company (Embarq) bundles with. I hate it. The DVRs are all "refurbished" even though they dust them off, put them in new boxes and try to tell you they are new. It goes out any time it rains. And now this mess with FSN. To their credit, I blame FSN for all this crap - not Dish. I know they are gauging Dish because the guy that owns it is also part owner of Direct TV. Dish is between a rock and a hard place. What are they supposed to do?? I think someone else needs to get involved. Seems like Fox is breaking some sort of antitrust laws. Another unfortunate part of this whole debacle is that FX is gone too. I was just getting into It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I checked my timer yesterday and it was empty. **** Fox.
Thankgod I got direct tv 2 months ago. Almost got dish! Yikes. Dtv ftw! Plus, they'er save $10 a month of your bill referral program kicks ass.
At first I was mad at Dish but now I am mostly pissed off at Fox. Dish is somewhat at fault but Fox really really sucks. I also thought about switching to DirecTV but I just can't see how its any better or cheaper. Their packages cost more and the number of channels is lower. Now I havent actually compared the lineups channel for channel but still. Also, disputes like this can happen to any provider. FOX did the same to others in the past and is doing this to another cable provider right now (forgot the name). So what happens if Directv will have the same issue in the future (maybe not with Fox)...will I have to switch again?
Direct TV is known for their superior HD quality, and sports packages. That was the main reason I got it. Not too shabby, I have the choice extra I believe for $52 a month. Haven't missed a Houston based sporting event (one I want to watch like the Stros...Rockets...Texans). The main reason I took Dtv over Dish was from what I heard in regards to hardware, signal quality with rain etc. And I was comparing the available sport packages.
I posted the same thing in the GARM but since there are 2 threads regarding Dish/Fox here is the info again.. FYI - If you're a Dish customer please email the execs below. Emailing ceo@dishnetwork.com and president@dishnetwork.com is useless. I actually got a call back from the executive office - I didnt get much - just 3 PPV coupons - but still... robert.olson@dishnetwork.com, stanton.dodge@dishnetwork.com, thomas.cullen@dishnetwork.com, erik.carlson@dishnetwork.com So please send an email to the 4 addresses above with your concern. The least you will get is some PPV coupons...
I clicked on this like "Oh sugar honey iced tea, what did I do?" Glad I'm not the one in trouble.
