    :( :( :(

I miss our big guy. He's gone for 3 games, and I already miss him badly. If we Rockets fans are like regular men, Yao is like the perfect wife to us --- always faithful, always there, loves you, cares for you, cooks for you, cleans up your crap, takes all the blames for bad things, and gives you all the credit for good things, never complains, tireless (well, at least this season), never flirts with other men (the Lakers can go to hell)...

The problem is, just like the perfect wife, he's always there and healthy. He's there with you everyday for so long. And what do you do when your wife's like that? Instead of appreciating the fact that you have her, you go out and see some other hotties and start fantasize about them. You start criticizing her for what she's not and can't do. Why can't she speak French? Why can't she cook Italian food? Why isn't she a total w**** in the bedroom? Why is her dad a jerk? Why doesn't her mom like you more? Why doens't she watch the NFL with you on Sunday? Why does she always want to go to church? ...

Now, she's sick and in the hospital, and you are alone at home. You see your house is a mess, your 10 years old hates your cooking, your 5 years old is jumping, screaming and breaking stuff, and your 5 months old needs diaper change every 10 minutes, and you are lonely as hell. You start missing her badly. You start regretting not thanking her more. You want her to get better and come home as soon as possible.

This is how I feel about a player like Yao Ming. He gets flamed nation-wide on a daily basis for not being Shaq. His 20/9 is always there, but always gets overlooked. His man-on-man D is always one of the best(if not the best), but never got recognized. He always alter shots, but no one notices it because he doesn't block them and sometimes pickup fouls. He drags a 310 lbs weight back'n'forth the court non-stop, and no one pays attention because he isn't as fast as a 200 lbs guard...

Guys, I am happy as hell that we have Yao, and you should be too. Some people say when TMac isn't here, Yao's flaws are exposed. Now when Yao isn't here, his importance is exposed. Next time you want to trade Yao after a 15/7 performance, think twice.

Oh, I am the guy who got (and still have) the man-crush on TMac.

    nice DeAleck

except for the part about being the best at man defense(he's pretty good, still needs to work on positioning to become one of the best)

    ....I agree.

    I've never been married :( .

ps: excellent post. Though I think Yao's team defense is better than his individual defense at this point in his career.

    DeAleck,

You the man for bringing up your appreciation for Yao. Yao will be happy and moved by what you said in this post. :D

When TMac was out, I missed him badly too, but when Yao was not there on the court, it feels totally different, it's like the team on the court now is not the Houston Rockets.

No... that's why I call her "the perfect wife". Of course, I doubt she exists...

Actually now that I think about it, it sounds like a tradational japanese woman!! Yao = tradational Japanese woman?

Chinese women used to be this way like a couple of centuries ago, but you're not going to find that anymore. You might still find some Japanese that are like this though!

So do you love Tmac or Yao more? Make up your mind. Triangular relationship is no fun.
