I unfortunately have to go to Dallas to visit the in-laws. To reward myself for not complaining to my wife about a) going to Dallas and b) seeing the in-laws, I've decided to treat myself to a good steak while we are up there.

Any suggestions? I did a search and it seems like Pappas Steakhouse is the best up there in that dreadful city. But I really wanted to try a place that I can't go to in Houston.

    The Butcher Shop

I've been there once and it was pretty good. But I have to let you know that I don't eat much red meat and this was my first steakhouse...

There's a place up there that's some Brazilian Steak House. You pay a flat rate and get to eat STEAK STEAK STEAK.

Can't recall the name, but it was delicious.

I'm sorry you have to do this. I married a Dallas girl too, so I often have to do the same thing. I figure that even though I'm lazy and self centered, this bit of suffering will get me into heaven.

If you want something you can't get here, try Del Frisco's or Al Biernat's up in "big" D.

You should kill yourself now before you have to step foot in that city.

Speaking of Brazilian steakhouses, I just got back from a 18 day vacation in Brazil and would recommend a churrascurria called Porcao to everyone here. The only ones in the US are in NYC and Miami, but this place was sooooo good!

Fogo de Chao is from Sao Paulo and Porcao is from Rio de Janeiro...I've been to both and Porcao gets the upper hand here.

Bob's Steak and Chop House on Lemmon. Supposed to be the best.

The best for sure is Texas de Brazil on Beltline Rd. It's pricey but well worth it. If you like fogo de chao it's very similar in that it's a buffet. Texas Road house is another one I'd recommend. You have it good b/c I live here and I don't have to visit the in-laws. I live with them.

If you like Prime Rib, go to Lowry's The Prime Rib. It's amazing! It's off of 635 and the north tollway.

    Dallas Sux...Oh wait...

Ok, the Mavs do suck, but the steaks don't...I've been around, well, not like that, well maybe yes, but you know how it is...

III Forks off of the North Dallas Tollway

    or...

Del Frisco's off of Spring Valley and the ND Tollway

If you and the wifey are going out for an evening, check out Cuba Libre off of Knox/Henderson/ 75 or Blackfinn off of Beltline in Addison...
