Sapp's sack of Bledsoe was a SACK

OK, I have to ask. Why the random line breaks in your posts? I've been meaning to ask.

Was wondering the same thing... also why the "Rocket River" sign off, your name is already on your post, seems a little like talking about yourself in the 3rd person.

As far as the rule goes, its a rule and players have to adjust to it... it was Sapp's dumb mistake.

Eventually, they should just turn tackling the QB into two-hand touch.

I support the late hits... and helmet to helmet contact... but if other players are allowed to be picked up and thrown to the ground (including kickers and punters), so should QB's.

Plenty of "great" QB's played in the era where they didn't protect them like this... I don't think we'll be losing any more "greats" if we ease up the rules.

All you newbies, RR has been around here since you guys were in diapers. It's his style. Originality is a lost art in this country.

Well, your highness, I got that it was his style. That's why I was asking if there was a particular reason for choosing that style.

Just like you asking why everyone criticizes the Texans? Perhaps you should have chose halfbrain as your nick.

I thought this thread had something to do with the QB eating Ruffles chips on the sideline.

    :)

Wow...did someone wake up on the wrong side of bed? I asked Rocket River a question which he later answered. I don't know why this bothered you so much. Maybe I should've tried to emulate you and just called myself halfbrain*

It's an overreaction after teams started relentlessly cheap shotting quarterbacks to take them out of the game, rather than play them straight up. I think it's more prevalent at the college level(Florida State) - but I blame the ****s who started trying to take out quarterbacks rather than play the game.

    reminds me of Buddy Ryan.

I think the flag on Sapp was unnecessary, but so was throwing Bledsoe to the ground in the manner he did ...

I merely tried to answer your question (and the other newbie who asked) by telling you that it was his style. Then you replied with some flippant "your Highness" remark and that you had figured that out all on your own (amazing as that is to believe).

My issue ALSO is . . . it is a call based On ability
because if this is vick . .with the possibility that he can shed the tackle
it is not called. . but since it is THE STATUE . .and we know he cannot
    we call it. . .

But to be .. . BLedsoe still could have gotten away
Had Sapp held up and Bledsoe flicked the ball to the running back
who made a touchdown . . .then Sapp was stupid for it

I guess to me. . it is 1. too subjective 2. just makes the QB a premadonna on the field
