I agree, though, WE WIN AGAIN. Houston, we have NO PROBLEM.

dallas can suck it. Back in the day, there was something to debate about. But now, Houston is getting international acclaim. Suck it

    I love the part about:

"Beyonce is from Houston. It's a little questionable that Queen Bey's birth in Houston is important enough to list -- especially since she spends most of her time now in New York City -- but Houston is also a hub for hip-hop. Since we're keeping score on the musical front, Dallas is the birthplace of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Norah Jones, LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Simpson, and Dorrough. Maybe I should have left Simpson off the list? Verdict: Dallas. Don't tell Beyonce."

    who cares right?

Here's what I wrote in the comments section:

having lived 18yrs in Houston and 15 in DFW, I'll say that Houston wins. way-friendlier people, less blatent racism, a Mayor/city council that actually gets things done instead of bickering, a much larger museum district, way better/diverse restaurants. For festivals, Houston has far more free annual festivals like the annual Marley-fest, the International Festival, the Childrens Festival, The Houston Arts Festival, and fun parades like the Annual Art-Car Parade. Heck, the Houston Medical District alone is larger than downtown Dallas. As for the traffic that was mentioned - Dallas and Houston routinely flip-flop on the countries annual worst traffic lists and theres about 1min of difference between them in the average time spent in traffic so that argument is null and void. As far as the pollution someone else mentioned, Houstons pollution has dropped significantly in the last 15yrs and is no longer even in the top 10...meanwhile, Dallas is actually becoming MORE polluted and slowly climbing the list.

dallas should thank their lucky stars they live so close to fort worthless.. otherwise they would be san antonio..

really, tho is beyonce the only famous person from houston??:rolleyes:

lol the famous folks she listed are from the metroplex, not dallas. then she lists some nobody rapper named dorrough. i had to google this nobody..

the most famous hip-hop artist from dallas?? The D.O.C.
the most famous hip-hop artists from Houston?? Scarface & DJ Premier..

that alone shiits on whatever came or comes out of dallas.. face is a legend that is probably on your favorite rappers top 5 list, and dj premier is the consensus #2 hip-hop producer of all time behind only dr.dre..

Lol she rags on Bey for spending most of her time now in NYC but forgets to mention Jessica Simpson and LeAnn Rimes spend ALL their time in Los Angeles now. (Dunno about Norah's living habits).

The mention of Dorrough is laughable. She would have been better off using the great Miss Erykah Badu as proof of Dallas' greatness on the music scene but I guess she wanted to mention one rapper. Unfortunately the one rapper she chose to mention is not even on the level of a Z-Ro or Trae or even Chamillionaire. If one wanted to, one could mention Houston is the home of UGK and the surviving Bun-B and that's a wrap to any discussion of the rap scene in both cities.

There are some good things about Dallas that I do miss but the writer is just trying too much to come up with reasons why Dallas is better and it doesn't work well.

I would say as a young person Dallas is more enjoyable to live in especially the Uptown area and downtown area. Houston is where people go to raise kids.

dfw just said vanilla ice and that's probably your answer. Funny part is that vanilla ice didn't even admit to it and said miami. just in case you didn't know it

Of course natives of Dallas consider themselves inferior to those of Houston. How could they not?

Houston and Dallas aren't really that different. They are both vast concrete jungles.
