Randy Galloway and Bill Stenniford on Dallas' ESPN radio are saying that the Rockets are more than "worried" and that the "heat is back on Houston." Are they really thinking that Houston has no fight left? They believe that Dirk doesn't have to be great to win the series, but that "McGrady has to out of his skull" to beat Dallas... Huh? Sorry, Cubanites, but you're out Monday night.
I didn't eloborate much, partially because I was in shock at the over confident sheep/homers that weigh in about how the Mavs are poised for the title now that they're "on track." They've also repeatedly said that AJ out coached JVG in game 3!! I thought the players just missed good shots.
It's all mind games to take away from the fact that the Rockets still have the advantage currently. Down 1-0 ... "Dirk played poorly, no way that happens next game. I pity Houston in Game 2". Down 2-0 ... "Now the pressure is on Houston to have to win at home. The Mavs are a brilliant road team, they will go down there and win both." Down 3-0 ... "The Rockets may have made a mistake here, the Mavs are so dangerous and now have nothing to play for -- they're a loose cannon right now." Down 4-0 ... "Come on, you're telling me the HOUSTON Rockets could possibly beat Dallas in a 9-game series? No way that would happen." Just relax. Even if we lose Game 4 I don't think anyone has a tremendous advantage playing anywhere. All 3 games have been fairly close and homecourt hasn't made a lick of difference. Both of these teams are great on the road.
A blinding flash of the obvious JVG is the PERSONIFICATION OF WORRY. If there was a "worry" statue, it would be JVG! D R
Of course we should be more worried than had it gone to 3:0. We are less worried however than had it gone to 1:2 or 0:3. And Dallas should be more worried entering game4 than us. To me, we just have more ways to beat Dallas than to beat Spurs or the Suns.
the thing about that is, when the Rockets were in Dallas, JVG said that he thought it was likely that Dallas would get one in Houston so he thought we had to get two there to have a chance to win the series. so everything is going according to plan. The Rockets can lose tomorrow and I still think they have it in them to win in 6. But that Galloway dude, he's a sonofabitch. he's got a serious problem. its cool if you want to tear into a city and its inhabitants and not be serious about it but this guy was serious. yesterday listening to him broadcast his his radio show from the toyota center.. it made me hate people from dallas. piece of sh1ts like that at least.
He's usually funny, but He's got something in his craw about Houston. He opened every segment today by saying "Live from Hell or Houston, you decide.." And calls Houston "Mosquitoville" quite often... Then went on to say he hasn't seen one mosquito. He did comment though that the "Foreign Car Arena" (TC) was nicer than the "Arena Downtown Dallas" (AAC)...
i have just accepted that the rockets don't ever get any respect and the mavericks despite accomplishing jack squat are always favored to reach the conference finals. i actually rather have it this way so when the rockets do beat them they can't say a damn thing. respect earned is sooooo much sweeter than respect given.
Understand that Dallas has higher expectations from the Press and their fans then the Rockets do. Dallas won 58 games, Houston started like crap. First impressions ya know? Anyway, best that Houston not get respect and everyone says Dallas is back on track. We know this Houston team plays better when people dog on them, so hopefully the press will keeping dogging on them...
They got it backwards. Dirk has to be more than great for Dallas to win a game, McGrady got Yao. What is Galloway talking about? I'm definitely not worried. As soon as Rockets get back to their game plan, they will beat Dallas handily. Which IMO is to establish Yao foremost, and the two men games with TMac gets going, the rest will follow.
Couldn't agree more. Rockets have shown that they can go in Dallas and win. If they show some of that defense they played during the regular season, they can end it by Monday. Not to say that it won't go 6 or 7, but JVG is too good a coach to lose two or three games in a row. Dallas made their adjustments last game, now it's time for the Rockets to make their adjustment. They're going to go a lot more with Yao inside and attack with Tracy on the perimeter. You will see Sura and James handling the ball less. The offense is a lot more effective when T-Mac intiates it. If we play half the defense we played during the regular season, we will win this series. We can score on Dallas pretty consistently. If we guard them tighter on the perimeter tomorrow, I can see a blowout.
I'm sure that the quote was out of context and they meant to say, "The Rockets are worried...that the refs will give the Mavericks the 50 free throws a night they need to win a game in the series."
Galloway is a joke. If the Rockets lose this game, they're a small underdog to win the series. If the Mavs lose, the Rockets are an overwhelming favorite. The pressure is once again on the Mavs to step up on the road, and they most likely won't have Van Horn for this game. Huge advantage to the Rockets at this point.
