http://www.nba.com/2011/news/12/26/rockets-sign-samuel-dalembert.ap/index.html HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Rockets have signed free-agent center Samuel Dalembert. The 6-foot-11 Dalembert agreed to a multi-year contract last week. The team officially announced his signing Monday. Houston opens the season at Orlando on Monday night. Dalembert averaged 8.1 points and 8.2 rebounds for Sacramento last season. He played his first eight seasons in Philadelphia after the 76ers made him a first-round (26th overall) pick in 2001. The Rockets needed to add a big man after NBA Commissioner David Stern halted a three-team deal that would have brought Pau Gasol to town. Rockets ready to roll!!! What will his averages be in Houston?
He is available, so I don't see why not. The decision is in Coach McHales hands now...but for $7mil per, he'd better be playing against Dwight & Co.
i dont expect his numbers to be better than these http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200904190ORL.html he gets in foul trouble in most of these games and essentially gets manhandled by dwight
I don't see 4.3 fouls per 36 minutes as foul trouble. Almost identical to what Tyson Chandler averages and I have never really thought of him as foul prone. I guess well see, but just playing as a defensive minded center suggests more physicality in his play and a closer eye on fouls.
word from coaches around the leauge is that there are only going to be about 12-15 full practices this season so every game turns into a coaching opportunity now. He will see at least 10 minutes of time tonight. It can only help, the only way to get into game shape is to play the game.
I like we signed him. Gives off the vibe of laziness though this late. Wait long enough to miss all team practices before he signs with a team and then goes into the first game before its official so he can possibly miss a game or two. Sounds like laziness or lack of a plan.
Sammy wasn't able to practice because we were working on a sign and trade, it wasn't official until now. He wasn't allowed to practise with he team, but has been working out nearby and studying the playbook. McHale said earlier today it wouldn't really be fair to throw him in tonight, but likely would anyway.
