Detroit now has Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Antonio McDyess, Dale Davis, Darko Milicic, and Jason Maxiell (not to mention the high school kid they'll likely stash in the NBDL) at the 4 and 5 spots.

There has to be some kind of trade in the works, right?

Maybe so. But what it definitely means is that the Pistons aren't getting Finley since they've split their MLE and burned half of it.

Most likely not but interesting signing to make you wonder nonetheless.

You wouldn't be a Heat fan by any chance. Because with Anderson on board, the Rox chances at Finley are pretty much nonexistant. Not that they were any good before anyway.

It's not that Davis is good, it's that they've now committed half their MLE money. Miami is offering Finley the full MLE. Detroit would have only given Davis part of the MLE if they thought that Finley was going to Miami. That doesn't sound like we're reading too much in it to me...

Another twist is that they could have completely lost faith in Darko and willing to move him for draft picks or "prospect". This is noteworthy and necessary for them becuse they somewhat need another big man to help counter a more improved Miami and Spurs teams, of course taking away from their close rival in Indiana while at it.

The Wallaces deal angle to this acquization kinda makes some sense but I doubt if they will be willing to trade their fan favorite (Big Ben) and I doubt the T-Wolves will be willing to trade for Ben who may only play for them just one season since he will become an UFA after this coming season.

How do you think Darko feels about now? Just when he thinks he might get some playing time, bam they sign Antonio McDyess. Then this year they draft Maxciell. Campbell is let go and Darko might get some time right? Wrong. Then they pick up Dale Davis.

I can't blame Detroit. They need "Shaq insurance"....big bodies that can play inside. But with those vets, you wonder how much time Darko will get?

Davis is a solid signing by Detroit. If nothing else it keeps Davis off their rivals' roster of Indiana.

I thought it was a given that if Miami got Finley, Detroit got Sprewell--does this mean they've given up on him too?? It's been said he would choose Det or us...
