Since the season is obviously over and we say we have rebuilt, what should they do in the offseason??? Should we release Rudy? Push for Odom or Lewis? Or just draft more younginz?Or just wait and see how the injuries really affected us with Mo and Rice coming back? Put what yall think. Later.
This topic is basically brushed upon in a number of threads. But, to some it up, I would concentrate on- a)letting injured players get healthy and return to the lineup with an impact b)practice defense non-stop over the summer c)look to acquire size (not just height, but bulk) either through free agency/trades or the draft (Yao Ming). d)solve Francis' migraine problems for good e)work on a more fluid offensive system - although i personally think this will come with a deeper rotation and the return of many of our injured options. f)start training camp a little early solely for practicing basketball smarts - they dont have to be out there playing every day, but given all the lack of practice time excuses we always here, in combination with a definite need for our players to better understand certain schemes, defenses and systems, it seems obvious to me that they need more time to "practice" that's all I can think of for now.
Speaking of size. I saw a replay of the Greenville Groove vs. Mobile NBDL game. Thomas Hamilton is manning the pivot for Greenville. He meets the above requirement, but he's like a 46% free-throw shooter. Could we bring him back. I know he was with the Rox once and had some kind of falling out, but that was before I started following this site... so I know nothing about what happened-- although I might have some guesses as to what went wrong.
1) push for Odom. 2) try to get rid of G.Rice's bloated contract. 3) draft the BEST available player do not draft for needs (look what happened in the '00 draft )
The problem wasnt that we drafted for need, but that we didnt draft the best possible player given our needs. It is okay to draft for need, ie size, but you have to be sure you draft the best player on the board that will fufill your need. Collier, clearly, wasnt that. I for example, wouldnt want the Rockets to draft Jason Williams in this draft even if we get the first pick. If we dont trade him, how will he significantly help our frontcourt deficienies?
Last night's fan turnout was ridiculously low. And I still can't believe how many people seem to be more "wowed" and entertained by Turbo than the game itself.
i agree with everything you just said except i would rather go for lewis. odom is a potential star, but he will smoke his way into multiple suspensions and thats going to hurt this team. i would rather go for lewis. imo, lewis has the potential to be another mcgrady-once t-mac left toronto he became a star. i have a feeling that the same thing might happen once lewis leaves seattle and has francis dishing him the ball. sorry...it told me that i couldnt post two posts in 30 seconds or something...my bad.

Just as long as we get one of them. I thought Kareem Rush would be the answer for the 3 but he seems to have trouble creating his own shot.
