Man I wish we got Wade!!! He's absolutely perfect for us! Do you think it is him or SVG? Anyone think SVG could have done this with Steve? I also do understand that the Heat do have more talent and more scorers than do the Rockets

I find this funny. That leaves GP, Tinsley, Bibby, and Cassell still in the playoffs. Let's see how long it takes for someone to compare Francis to the other remaining PGs.

actually i find both wade and SF to be exactly the same in the style of play, both are SGs playing the point because they are undersized but are scoring playmakers. I think SF is a better rebounder but wade isnt too shabby himself. Both are decent shooters and passers, but both a quick, but deceptively strong penetrators.

Sad thing is that Wade already has more playoff games under his belt then Francis does

Yeah thats pretty sad, plus hes doing well in the matchup with the Pacers, who have a much better defense then the lakers.

    similar players.

in a few seaons he may be better than francis... but a lot of rookies tank too... the example was previously caron butler, but you know he's turned it around.

wade is a poor mans SF. He's also a 2 guard pretending to be a point

Wade is exactly a lite version of Steve Francis.

Both athletic, strong, but turnover prone at the same time; lack of consistent outside jumper, natual 2 guard play 1 position, etc.

But Wade is no where near Steve Francis, if you watch Steve Francis's game two years ago, his athleticism was just amazing. The dunk contest involving Steve, Carter, T-Mac was the one of all time classic in NBA history.

Having Yao playing with him, to me, is the biggest tragedy to his personal game. He sacrificed a lot for the team and suffered a lot. So no matter it finally works out or not, no matter he play for Rox or another team in the end, I will always be his fan and cheer for him.

i agree with you 100%. if you compare their stats, you will see that they are amazingly comparable while Wade has a SIGNIFICANTLY higher FG%.

I posted the EXACT same thread about 3 months ago but got bashed. Francis should be near his prime now but still making silly mistakes that Wade doest even make.

Like Wade having more playoff games than SF3 makes any difference!?! Obviously you STILL don't know the difference b/w the East and the West for the past 5 years.

    D. Wade is in his first year in the nba and i believe hes already better than the so called franchise. He's more controlled, though hes not a great set up player but who cares, he has odom on that team. How i wish we could trade francis for wade and have barry as the two guard. Now if only we can have boozer we'll be ok next year plus daniels of course.

Too bad the GM's of the league are all at least high-school graduates, or we might get Boozer and Daniels.

this is just sad:( :( :(
why do people not remember how good steve was the years before this one:( :(
saying that wade is perfect for us and saying francis is not is very strange. have you ever seen wade play? he plays exactly like steve. he is a younger version of steve. But steve was better in his rookie years, so maybe wade is a poor mans steve.
i'm guessing the next trade francis thread will inlcude Bibby, bigboymumu

For me, it comes down to this ..

being more depressed by the inefficient 1on1 dribble-mania, TO's, lack of decision making, inability to finish a FBreak, and lack of P1S2 PG skills...

    or

more impressed by stats, athleticism and S1P2 skills.

Considering how IMO the game should be played, for me Francis has been more flash than substance from his 2nd season onward in spite of his stats.

He's probably overall better than Wade, but I'd not bet against Wade catching him before their careers are over. Especially since MIA and SVG play a similar ball control game as the Rockets and Wade has mastered it much more easily.

    Gater. Thanks for your reply

ofcourse i'm also frustrated somethimes when i see francis play, he make boneheaded plays. But i love the way he works. he wants to win and hustles like no other player. the year before francis his migraine he was unbelievable. he was great.

i understand that some people might be a bit dissapointed in Steve. But IMO to many people just bash francis just because everybody does it. I do not believe francis doesn't want to pas. i remember games where i wanted francis to shoot more because he was so good. but he just kept passing. so i think he wants to pass. he just needs a player who is dominant.

i also agree i want the rockets to be more of a pass first team. but i'm not to sure it is steve fault. he played the iso ball since his rookie year, and in the beginning it worked. I think steve will adapt to a better offense if he has a coach who plays that kind of offense.

Steve is adapting to JVG offense, i trully think he can have a great year next year. If francis plays bad enxt year then i can agree in trading him. But not this summer.

About Wade i'm not sure how good he will be. But i think he is not as good as francis was in his rookie year. But if SVG teaches the kid to play team ball and playing pass first shoot second, he has a edge over Steve. I think Wade can be great the future will see if he becomes better then Steve.

I see Wade as more of a Cassel type player. Someone who steps up when you need them to and is able to carry the team to a win in the playoffs when needed.
