Yeah! I get to see him play next Weekend 26th and 27th. The team already has two other Rockets Mike Harris and Will Conroy.
D-League seems like such a waste. It should be utilised as a proper developmental league (that's what it's called right?). Instead, it is like some sort of bin to throw roster trash into. Look at how the lower divisions in soccer/football work in europe? It should be like that. However, basketball already has a youth developmental league in the NCAA.
Morey is really abusing the D-League, However Nellie is the master at finding 20 point scorers out of D-League.
Morey is sending the rockets own rookies down to the D-League he hasnt called up anyone who hasnt been with the rockets before in some sort of capacity..Harris was on the team before, conroy and temple were on the summer league squad. they need people who know Adelman's system to play well. In GS its just streetball, run and gun I doubt they have any plays that arent out bounds plays. so players can come in and fit in easier there. (not trying to say GS hasnt found better talent out of the d-league, but trying to say that they have different objectives when sending down/calling up players)
I think you should give up your jersey number / username if JT ever decides to register here.....he really is The Yoyo now
no one averages 20 ppg but morrow tolliver watson williams all average over 10 ppg from the d-league (though morrow was brought up last year) and can go off for 20+ on any given night catier martin averaged 9ppg before his injury
JT has wanted to go back down to the D-league since he got called back up with the Ariza/Lowry injuries.. He just wants to play so I'm happy for him.
My guess is that there is only a little truth in either of these statements. If the Rockets needed Taylor even the slightest bit right now, there's no way he goes down to the D-League, playoffs or no playoffs. He's going down now because the team is finally healthy and he has no prayer of cracking this rotation right now. It is best for his development to get more playing time in the Valley than to waste away on the bench right now. And while he may (or may not) have been consulted as a courtesy, I'm guessing that he'd be sent down no matter what his answer was. No way the Rockets let Taylor's (hypothetical) ego get in the way of them developing the asset they paid $2.5M to acquire, let alone his contract value. That said, I personally think that Taylor can be a decent NBA player. He just needs some time. He'll make about $825k next season. No big deal. If he works out, great; the Rockets basically have team options on each of the following two seasons after next. If not, his contract isn't guaranteed after next season.
