They paid him a lot of money because the competition was willing to do likewise. Why? Beats me. I don't think he's worth that much, but he fits in well with the Lakers so I can't complain.

Decent player, but he'll never be anything more than 10-12 ppg.

As a Laker I am not that happy about this deal. DG still has more to prove in order to get this kinda jack. I am hoping they have a sign-n-trade deal involving a quick point guard or big PF for George.

If DG stays I hope Mitch makes me eat my words:)

LakerMania - since the contract has been signed with the Lakers, he can't be traded for 3 months at the least. Any moves the Lakers make will have to involve another player...so you better hope he makes you eat your words!

I agree with kidrock...a decent player, but he won't be more than a 10-12ppg scorer, especially not with Kobe and Shaq around.

He never really proved anything special to me, IMO. It's sort of hard when you have a player like Kobe Bryant playing ahead of you.

Can you name the magic's backup sg in less than 10 seconds? or the backup behind Vince Carter?

All these guys get over shadowed. I'm sure he's worth that kind of money.

Yeah, the backup SG in Orlando is Monty Williams and the backups behind Vince Carter was Tracy Murray and Dell Curry.

But that's not the point. :)

I don't think he's worth that much money, but he's definately got potential. We'll see how well he can improve upon that behind (or eventually beside) Kobe with Kareem Rush around.

I'm not either. The stupid idiot jacks up bad shots at the worst time. His 3pt shooting is overrated. He is a decent rebounder, but that's about it...

I think the Lakers will be missing Jerry West sooner rather than later...

...were I LA, I'd have been trying very, very hard to bring in Rashard Lewis. Maybe he wouldn't have gone for the MCE, but it would have been worth a try.

Rashard Lewis? Are you kidding me?

I think they should've waited for Duncan and Lebron James.

Why would Duncan and James go to the Lakers?

Lewis would have been a good fit in LA. He needs to work on being able to get his own shot(For when one of the big two is injured), but he would still give them a prolific outside shooter.
