Cyberex, all the props in the world for responding to this thread. Very much appreciated. I'd be very underwhelmed with Ariza. Would rather just keep Chandler. I'm afraid we will miss, very much, what he provided that didn't show up in the box score. He and Beverley were by far our biggest glue guys.
Ilysova should be a trade target. Guy would fit great next to Dwight and can play backup 5 too. Leaves you win room to get Stephenson, Ariza, or Marion and some other smaller pieces.

Anyone that is that close to talks would not just throw stuff like this out there. I think it is just people pissing in the wind hoping they are right.
Exactly. So you don't go for a free agent. You target a team that needs to shed salary, and gather more assets in the process. Then you go for a big trade. Trade for a star. Don't go after average players just because they're free agents.
i hear you guys, but im just holding onto any glimmer of hope i find. its makes me happy to see something might be developing
All Drew said was that the Rockets reached out to Melo again... It's probably nothing, BUT I don't believe Houston has actually been told they are out of the running, so...
I find it highly unlikely we don't match if we get Ariza, unless we have Ariza coming off the bench...
I have a buddy in sports media who just told me the Rockets are back in the Carmelo discussion, but not how you would think. That's all I can say.
