According to an NBA front office executive, Ariza is seeking a salary comparable to the four-year, $48 million deal that Andre Iguodala received last season. CBS Sports is reporting that he wants a deal starting between $9 million and $11 million.

One general manager told Sporting News that Stephenson should expect a deal that starts, “in eight-figure land.” Eight-figure land is $10 million, of course. That’s five years, $57 million. If the Pacers can’t give him that, surely a team with cap space will give him four years, $43 million. (Under NBA rules, the Pacers can offer a five-year contract, and other teams can offer four.)

Would it be worth splitting $20 mil between Ariza and Stephenson, then matching Parsons? Too much to pay for non-starters?

    Howard
    Jones/DMo
    Parsons/Ariza
    Harden/Stephenson
    Beverley

I might weep openly if we sign Trevor Ariza for $48 mil.

I like Ariza a good solid two way player if we don't match Parsons. Both these guys can get on a tear shooting lights out. Without Asik Howard and Jones can't guard the super Big 4's...

No. Too many wings, not enough bigs.

I don't see how its even possible to trade for Love at this point without Parsons. Clevland and Golden State have WAY better options

Personally, I don't get why we seem to want to prefer overpaying contract year Ariza to Parsons. Also why would Ariza want back after we ditched him the last time?

Maybe a bit too much, but that's a sick bench. The main problem is that I can't see them signing here if it means coming off the bench. If they're looking for 10 mil, they're looking to start.

One of Stephenson and Ariza. Then find a decent big man and a backup PG with the rest of the money.

I can almost guarantee we won't sign Ariza or Deng. They do not get you over the hump against OKC, LAC, or SAS. They are the ultimate anti-Morey move....neither stars nor cheap.

Parsons is also not a star or cheap, but at least his contract lets you leverage your cap space. Use your cap space to acquire more assets....not sign overpaid above average players.

Yeah, but who will out of the remaining FA pool? They're two of the best assets still available...
