Does anyone really think C-Webb will leave Sac Town High and Dry? I think he will be hard Pressed to leave in the 1st place. But if he does. . . . I say Sign and Trade all the way. Therefore the Cap Space may not be *as* important as many folx seem to want to say it is. I feel it is possible to get Cwebb Keep Anderson and Mo BUT we'd have to look and see what we *can* trade and Sac *will* take. Honestly could we Sign and Trade Mo while they Sign and Trade Cwebb They get Mo + Cato . . . would that do it. Mo gives them some slack back and they shore up with a defensive center than MAYBE can handle a few alley oops Rocket River [Maybe this belongs in another forum but . . . .. ] ------------------
Dude...you've got a weird layout on your posts...almost like reading haiku. But I can't criticize, my username looks like a personalized license plate, and hurts the eyes, too. The best possibility is signing Webber outright and then moving Cato and Walt and whatever to an Eastern conference team with cap space (Detroit, Chicago). But that's too much to hope for. It would be nice to remove Sacramento from the list of Western powers, but maybe a trade of Cato + Walt + picks (providing we keep one of our own 1st rounders this year) to New Jersey, sending California boy Van Horn to Sacramento in exchange for Webber...or to Chicago which has the cap space. But again, dream-casting and wishful thinking on my part. There are ways and possibilities, but if we simply sign Webber outright, pick up Terrence Morris in the draft, we'll be real solid. If we don't make the playoffs, we can grab a center like Haywood or Woods with the #13 pick for insurance. Then maybe we can make a trade. Ah, the possibilities. ------------------
The nice thing about the cap space is we can do the sign and trade without matching salaries. So we can S&T Colson for Webber if both sides felt like it. In fact, if we did that, Sac would get a HUGE trade exception and Webber would get Bird money. And Colson would get a guaranteed contract. That' silly, but the real point is, if Sac wanted to gamble on Cato, say, and we wanted to be rid of him, we can trade the two straight up even though we'd be taking more salary and talent in the trade. And we'd get Webber, unload Cato and maybe have a little salary cap space left over. I think the Rockets should pursue a S&T with Sac before signing Webber outright if Webber wants to play for us. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
My Point is CWebb will get his money It comes down to where he wants to go once he decides. . . he can say HEY I'm going here . . .Then leave it for Sac and the other team to make a deal or not that is why Cap space will be special If we can sign him outright then Sac has to either take our scraps or get nothing. . .
