Best wishes Cuttino! Yeah and I do agree it was a blessing in disguise that he was traded. He was an over achiever IMO.

I love that they tried to nail CD, show him in a dirty light and he totally owned the guy, made him crack up with a grin, then suggest who he should really be asking.

What is the deal with this show going after Houston people?

CD rolls with that southern swag.

If I was Mobley, in my rookie year, I would sign anything that keeps me on the court, too. When you have that kind of talent and have a chance to make that kind of dough, you have to go for it. I guarantee he doesn't regret anything, "gotta let them know, I love the dough."

Get well Cat and as always, stay fly doing it. :)

    Thanks for the video.

Cuttino accpeted the health risk for the money, that's scary, I don't think I would have been able to do that.

Love Cuttino. Pray for his health and happiness. CD and the Rockets cared about him. They left it to the doctors to determine if he could play or not.

These teams know this stuff thats why he asked him.

The same thing happened to Reggie Lewis who dropped dead on the court in Boston. His wife sued them and won the case.

Hank Gathers same situation, Ronny Turiaf had it too and his school doctors at Gonzaga knew as well.

They look out more for the team than anything else. That's why alot of guys sneak off and go to other doctors because the team is not always looking out for their health ALL the time.

Dude sat there an lied and said he didnt know, knowing good and well Cat would not deny anything seeing as he has nothing to lose.

This is why i've said 1m times that mcgrady didn't sabotage any deal the rockets had. His contract was the value and he couldn't pass the physical but the team could've waived that and traded for him.

As with any business deals, of course the team is going to protect themselves and their assets. It's a BUSINESS and players understand that.

As for CD, he said he knew, but I don't think he knew to the extent of Cuttino Mobley suddenly dying. If he would have heard sudden death or anything like that, I'm sure Mobley would have never played.

He could have dropped dead anyway [NBA or No NBA]
Might as well set his family up for life
I mean . . .it is top reason for sudden death among folx under 30
I doubt many of them are high level athletes

Rigurous excercise = bad for heart ---> leads to increased risk for 'sudden death'.

You took the "sudden death" statement a little too literally.

Very interesting video, its amazing what teams will do to get under the luxury tax, expiring at this point a the "golden ticket" to freedom.

In is interesting to think about how teams no longer care if the guy actually plays a minute in uniform.

I'm fairly certain you're just lumping athletes who have had prior heart conditions together with Mobley. Mobley's condition is not the same as Gathers' or Turiaf's. Definitely not the "same" situation.

I guess you might as well lump Juwan Howard's previous heart condition with these same players as well.

I'm curious to know how many players have had to waive their right to sue for health reasons.

    NO!!!

Team doctors never lie to player......EVER

They care about the players health, not the interest of the guy signing the checks!

Maybe not for the Rockets, put he would have gotten a deal somewhere. If not in the NBA, Europe. If not in Europe, China. If he signs the waiver and takes personal responsponsibility, I think he should be able to play. If the NBA would have told him he couldn't play and he went to another league, he'd be taking the same huge risk for a lot less money.

Mobley said he didn't know, but even if he did, I don't think you can blame him for taking the money, imo.

I don't think CD knew either.
