Instead of Francis for Brand. I just don't see Brand has that much extra value. Get the cheaper guy. Brand's undersized, injury prone, clogs the paint and can't shoot outside. Wilcox can at least platoon at Center.

Then move Francis and Taylor for Allen, Barry and Daniels. Then move Cato for D. Marshall and the TE for Harpring, use the MCE on Ostertag/Arroyo or something.

    Yao/Wilcox shooter/grit
    Wilcox/Marshall grit/ team helper
    Harpring/Boki shooter/developing
    Allen/JJ shooter/grit
    Barry/Daniels shooter/grit

    Just a thought.

    Clips renounce Q?

    Sonics disregard all their 1s?

Utah under the cap and therefore I don't believe they can take a TE.

That team lacks toughness and heart. Almost every player on that team is known for being soft and has had their heart questioned in the past.

That’s why I prefer a player like Brand, who is tough as nails, or a player like Mcgrady that has the killer instinct. That is the most pressing need for this team, mental toughness.

That team is even mentally weaker then the current squad.

I would do that trade, every time Wilcox comes in to the game he explodes to the basket.

He would be an upgrade at the 4 position, and JJ could slide into Mobley's spot at the 2.

I would never want to see Ostertag in a rocks uniform...EVER!

As for Wilcox, he does seem expendable with Brand, and the Clips most likely taking Dwight Howard with the 2nd overall pick.

Mobley is worth more than Wilcox, imo. Not that the trade couldn't be evened out with other considerations.

Why would the Clippers want Mobley when they already have Richardson & Maggette?

I think Wilcox would be a great fit on the Rocks.

newjack is right, that team looks like it would lack heart and toughness just by looking at it on paper

I think the Clips are gonna trade that pick to Atlanta for Atlanta's pick and something else.

That's true now, but this deal might seem ridiculous for the other side in a year or two...

Being a playoff team now, does that mean we shouldn't take risks like this one? I'd take it for Wilcox. If he had stayed in school, he'd be coming out now as one of the top picks. His potential is like a pre-injury McDyess.

If u really want wilcox and a trade that the clipps would do :

    Francis + A. Griffin for Wilcox + Jaric + drobniak + dooling + house + 2

Jaric may be pushing it for clipps but i think sterling would do it to put fans in the seats while not touching the core of brand, maggette, and richardson

We then dont resign the free agents pagett, wilks and jackson so we have lineup depending on who we take w/ the num 2 which we could also use to trade w/ many others, or we could trade w/ the bobcats to have them take a SAR in the expansion draft and trade him to us. (just a thought)

    If we take D.Howard
Jaric/dooling/nbdl * good player / sucks but is athletic

    mobley/house ** mobley/ broke mans mobley

jj / nachbar *** jj / 1 more year developed

    wilcox / mo / howard *** explosive young pf/ mo/ potential superstar

    Yao/ cato/ wilcox

If we don't take howard, theres plenty of foreign centers and pgs i'd like to see us take livingston

    jaric/ livingston
    mobley/ house
    jj/ nachbar
    wilcox/ mo
    Yao/ cato

    Pipedream.

Unless it's Brand for SF(which I'm not sold on happening), we have no ammo to pry anyone from their roster, excluding Ming of course.

They are loading up to make a run at Kobe, and they are not going to take on any extra $$$, let alone a sg. Otherwise, they'd just resign Q, who is very comparable to mobes.

From the rockets end though, I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Mobley is replaceable, and Wilcox is a decent pf prospect, something we need.

This bothers me about this board and the offseason (and reg. season for that matter):

Has a team EVER made that many trades in the offseason. You're talking about retaining 3 players from last season. Chemistry wasn't just a class I slept through in HS. Teams don't trade their entire rosters... everyone should realize that the scenario above is NOT going to happen (maybe 1/4 of it will).

Hell, I don't think a deal with the magnitude of the Barkley deal will happen. We're close, we made the playoffs, we're not the Clips or the Magic. Here's to bringing in 2 - 4 new players at the most and incorporating them into our system... not blowing up our team and starting new.

Good point, I feel some on this board act like GMs can make moves as if they were playing NBA Live or some other video game. That is so unrealistic. Even if this was something that could happen, the Rockets would not do it this year anyway. this is not a team trying to rebuild or start over. The Rockets are in a position to make a deal or two, sign some help and move guys in the rotation around to make what we had last year better.
