in first grade i missed 4 days because of sickness. in 4th grade i missed part of a day for a funeral. those were the only days i missed all the way through high school that weren't for academic (competitions or ceremonies) reasons. and then in college for about a year i never really skipped with any regularity. then i got into my main ChE classes, had a group of ChE friends that could either be there when you weren't, or let you copy hw and then skipping became normal. any business classes basically were always skipped and most others were off and on unless they were real hard. first semester of my senior year, one day it hit me that i hadn't been to class, any class, for a month. a full month. i had 4 classes. the hardest stopped after a month and was just completely a group project outside of class. the other 3 all put their lecture notes on the web beforehand so i just printed those and learned them whenever i wanted. i had old hw for my biochem class which kept me from having to go to get the notes explained through class, and the other two classes people could turn in my hw if need be. and all the classes were between tests (right after a test in one of the classes is what started the streak started). it was amazing to realize how far i had come from perfect attendance to perfect non-attendance for a month. still got my A's though.
