A stray kitten has taken up residence on my front porch. I've called all the animal shelters and they are closed for business - no new animals. Before you tell me to keep it, I already have 8 cats. Furthermore, there is a stray neutered tomcat that comes around my house for scraps, so if it stays outside where it is it will probably meet an untimely demise. It is a medium hair calico tortoise. It is maybe two months old at most. It is barely old enough to be away from its mother for any period of time. Contact me: keith (at) gunsofaugust.net if you are interested. I will deliver it to you anywhere in the greater Houston area if you'd like. The bottom line is, if you don't take this kitten, it will suffer a horrible and painful death, being ripped to shreds by an old tomcat. And here it is, sitting on my front porch like one of the lions in front of the NY Public Library, waiting for me to come back out after I'm done taking photos:
I just assumed the OP was being sarcastic? That's why I posted the pics I did. Kitten looks like a terror.
It doesn't help her out that she looks a mess. I'm thinking if your TomCat comes by he'll be more likely to get at her once she's old enough to be in heat. I'm sure all cleaned up, she'd look better.
If no one takes her, try to contact either HPPL (http://hppl.org) or HOPE (http://www.homelesspets.net). Those are both fostering organizations and might be able to find a foster home for the kitten until someone wants to adopt her.
There are also a 3 cute stray kittens that like to hang out on my porch and under my house and will likely also meet a horrible demise -- there used to be 5 of them. But, I'm content to let them test their meddle, so there's no need to contact me about them.
