Role: Starting center. Seals the middle. 2000-01 MagicMetric(TM) NCAA Player Rating: 12.444 (Ranked 425th out of 3000+)

Career to date: First half of his career was limited by reoccurring foot injuries. Played well as a freshman when healthy (3.6 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.1 bpg). Improved as a scorer as a sophomore (6.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.1 bpg) but missed 17 games.

Scouting Report: A rangy shot-blocker/rebounder deluxe

Though raw offensively, he is incredible defensively

Changes the dynamics of the game by patrolling the lane and swatting shots

Shot-blocking and body type reminiscent of a young Marcus Camby at this same stage in his career

Outstanding reach and mobility

Extraordinary rebounder as well

Very little offensive skills especially in the post

Gets completely pushed around in traffic due to his frail body

Solid face up shooter, though he lacks confidence as a scorer, so his shot hasn't been going down

Could be a terror eventually

Father, Jon, had a career in the NFL as an offensive lineman

Like many of the Stanford players, incredibly intelligent and excels not only on the court, but in the classroom. For the record: Had 20 rebounds against Purdue as a junior.

Fun fact: To date, Borchardt has received A's in all but one of his academic classes since seventh grade.

Any opinions on his NBA potential?

Not sure if he has star potential (like every Stanford player), but he seems like a lock for the NBA.

Probably a mid to late 1st rounder when he comes out.

I'd like to draft him if we can't get Ming but I wouldn't pick him b4 the 10th pick.

Ehhh...I'd pass, especially if he came out this year. A more athletic Joel Pryzbilla is what this guy has written all over him - including the lack of polish.
