So let me ask, if you believe we're heading for the lottery, how do you feel about the team winning?

I mean there is something to be said about beating the Lakers, Heat and Blazers... but if we're going to the lottery, does it do us any good to beat the Warriors, Mavericks, Bulls and Grizzlies?
(Don't worry Will, I know your answer)

I'd love to compile winning records against the Lakers, Blazers, Spurs, Heat, Knicks, and Pacers and lose all our other games. Wouldn't that be something?

i think its good. i think it shows we have heart. and i dont think any one of the rockets players can be satisfied with losing.

i hate teams who lose JUST to get a lottery pick, a big problem in pro sports today if u asked me....

and besides the more we win more chance francis has for ROY

I think we are going to the lottery, simpley because we are too far behind in the race, not because of the team we are now. Because of injuries, new players, etc...it just took too long for the team to come together.

If Barkley had not gone down, I think we would be in the playoff race right now. The team was playing then, like they have been recently. But losing him was a huge blow to the team in more then one way, and you could tell it in the way they played for quite a few games after he was lost.

At this point, unless Phoneix or Minnesota start to really suck, we will not make it out of the lottery. That being said, I think it is MUCH more important to continue to grow as a team and win games, then hope to lose games and get a slightly better lottery pick.

Rudy and his guys know how to pick talent. Or at least, he knows how to make the best of what talent he does get. We will get a good player no matter where we pick this year, and I don't the pick will make or break this team for next year. Continuing to gel the team we have right now, will do loads more good in the long run, then picking up a few spots in the lottery pick.

Two-thirds of how many...? I tried to vote thirty-five times, but unlike some site's polls, the Clutch Poll only let me vote once.

I think we're heading in that direction. Which other way could we go???

Hey, lottery = good. Playoffs = bad. I think we have a good, young nucleus. Adding one more athletic young gun would be great. Let's face it, we have no chance at a title, unless Hakeem shows pre-97 form again. I am not at all proposing we try to lose. But we have had some big wins against good teams. Hell, we have beaten the Lakers 2 out of 3. We have played Portland extremely well and beaten them once. Let's add another stud from the college ranks, and get a few solid free agents, then talk playoffs when we are fully armed for battle.

Whatever we are, we DON'T want to develope the reputation as being giant killers. Then all we'll have is the stigma of a team that can be dangerous if a "good" team has an off night, or lets their guard down.
    Consistancy is the key...

We will make a run at the playoffs. But miss it by like 3 games. Go to the lottery and become lucky and get the third pick like charlotte did last year.

I voted for playoffs because I think heart can get you a long way. Granted, probably not to the title. But I still think if they can start to play like they did yesterday, consistantly, they can get to the playoffs.

Also, I think you would have to physically strap Steve Francis to the bench to get him to lose ANY game.

I believe winning is important for the future of this team. It helps to develop character (even though Pippen has none) and attitude (toward winning) for the young ones.

The way I look at this season...
If we win ... "Great, we are maturing".
If we lose ... "Oh well, at least we are going to get a better pick"

I think the hill is too steep to climb, they won't make it to the playoff.
