Somebody can correct me, but as of right now our future pick list looks like so

    24 pick - BKN (3rd overall)
25 pick - worse of HOU/OKC- right to swap leftover with PHO
26 pick - likely none* (to OKC top 4 protected)
27 pick - PHO and better of BKN/HOU
    28 pick - HOU
    29 pick - best 2 out of HOU/PHO/DAL

As shown in the Mikal trade, 1st all the way out until 2031 are eligible for trade. So add the 2030 and 2031 Houston 1st to that list.

I might be too shortsighted but I feel Meh about this trade.

The 2025 draft is said to have great talents and we traded out of it.

i real hope we got a good return

Yes, it would have been better to retain the Nets 2025 1st round pick and to give up the 2026 pick, which is only top 4 protected.

Just for clarity, the 2025 OKC swap is top 10 protected.

I think this is a good point. As much as I like the Rockets going forward, if things go poorly early, FVV is gone and the Rockets will tank to keep this pick.

I am guessing the thinking is... "there will no way the NBA will let Flagg, Traore, Harper or Bailey go to the Rockets" so go ahead, trade the high-lotto chance away. Hopefully the Rockets can flip the draft picks for some decent vet or vets.

Looks like the GM using NBA 2k24 for trade ideas and following through with them . This could get better lol !
