Wow, that's a lot of money for paint remover!

Gov. Cuomo told Mayor de Blasio Thursday to remove graffiti blaring anti-police messages like “Kill all cops” and “F–k cops” from municipal buildings, calling it “another sign of decay” in the Big Apple.

“I’m telling the mayor: the cleaning up the city is important. You have a lot of negativity in the air now. Positive progress, move forward!” Cuomo urged Hizzoner during a Manhattan press briefing Thursday.

“It’s gotta be cleaned, it’s graffiti! Graffiti is not COVID, it’s not. It’s spray paint on a building,” Cuomo said, noting the relative ease of addressing the issue which de Blasio had neglected for weeks.

City workers on Wednesday began cleaning some of the graffiti that sprang up when demonstrators began occupying a park near City Hall last month after police dismantled the Occupy City Hall encampment in a pre-dawn raid.

But a de Blasio administration official told The Post said that a specialized contractor will need a “few weeks” to remove all the markings because of “the unique nature of the damage” to the landmarked buildings. Superstructures Engineers + Architects will perform the job at a cost of $150,000 to city taxpayers.

“Get the graffiti off the building, detergent, power washer, brush,” Cuomo said.

“It’s another sign of decay and what we’re trying to do is say to people, ‘New York is on the way back.’

“People need to see that progress. They certainly don’t need to see deterioration, and graffiti is something we can handle,” the governor said.

“You enforce the law. It’s illegal to do graffiti,” Cuomo added.

You say that until the instant he was nominated and then would wonder why the Democrats nominated a failure, corrupt guy like Cuomo and still vote for Trump.

I mean if bars are using chicken wings as an excuse to call themselves essential services, ya I would call them out on said bs also.

If you want to debate the merits and legality of shutting down businesses during a pandemic, that's an entirely seperate debate. But what bars are trying to do here is be cute rather than actually argue the merits of having a government say they can't be open which is a legitimate concerns and I absolutely understand the frustration a small business such as a local bar might have over these shut down orders. They need to make a living. I have sympathy for them.

It makes it seem like that's the only argument they have. If they have a legitimate argument that it's illegal for a government to shut down business during a pandemic, they would have expressed in in lawsuits rather than playing these cute games of pretending a bar is essential because they serve wings.

If those bars are willing to only serve takeout and delivery of their food products and Coumo denies them , I see their point.

Mayor Bill de Blasio tanked at a city pool Monday — when a female swimmer shouted at him, “We love you, Cuomo!”

Making the situation even more sticky for Hizzoner, when he told the woman his name wasn’t Gov. Andrew Cuomo, she replied, “Oh. What is it?’’
