I keep seeing posts refering to Dallas for Webber, Dallas is not pursuing Webber. Cuban said last week he is out of the Webber sweepstakes. Dallas is out.

By chance do you have any links to back this up? Not that it's earth-shattering news...

    But it would be nice...

I heard him say it (couldn't sign Webber) myself on 1310, The Ticket, and spoke w/ someone that talked to Cuban on Saturday night. He got the feeling that Cuban knew Webber wasn't coming so he did the Howard trade.

I will look for a link on the Ticket.

He may have said this, but do you really think he means it? I play pick up ball with a guy who is very good friends with an ex-Mavs player.....he still can be seen at the home games feeding them balls in the shoot around and such. At any rate, he stated to me that Dallas got Howard to actually lure Webber there in a sign and trade.

Now mind you, that is one heck of a salary cap nightmare, but Dallas could pull it off. I am not sure of the validity of it, it was just information passed on to me. Take it how you like.

    HOOP-T,

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Why would you pay $30 million for the PF slot?

Why would Sac take on Howards contract w/ the luxury tax coming up. Sac would doom themselves for the next few yrs w/ a contract like Howard, vs Dallas that doesn't care b/c it has a player at every postion, except C and billions of $$$. Dallas can offer long term contract to Finly, Nash, and Dirk regardless of the cap. I am not sure about the $$ and owner in Sac, but can they afford Howard and his 39mil over the next 2 yrs? Does anyone have this answer?

Also, why would Cuban say he couldn't fit Webber under the cap, but he can fit Howard. This makes no sense at all. Every intellegent person knows that is a lie. If Cuban really thought Webber would come to Dallas, why not wait and make the same trade (cap wise). Can anyone explain that?

My source says Cuban knows something but won't tell. I talked to him 10 minutes after talking to Cuban so....

I think what HOOP-T's saying is that "Dallas
got Howard to LURE Webber there." (CWebb and Howard are very close friends.) In that case, Dallas would keep Howard and try to get Webber via a S&T deal. They would send Dirk and others to Sac for CWebb.

C-Webb will not go to Dallas. Time heals all wounds, but why set yourself up again for Nellie's small-ball game when you can come in to Houston at the starting power forward? (Re-sign Hakeem for one year at 1 million, then give him a last year at, say, 6 million or so.)

Not to mention that they will have 3 all-star caliber players there in Howard, Webber, and Nowitzki.

And a hard-working second year player(he will be at that time) in Najera.

Hey Colby was that the Mussers or the Norm Hitzkis show that Cuban was on. I listen to 1310 all the time and he is on so much that it is hard to keep up with what show he is on and when.

    Good info thanx.

And to anyone who is thanking about Dallas trading Dirk...don't bet your house on it unless you have a nice card board box to live out of.

Something else about Cuban, he is extreamly loyal to his stars. Any trade would have to be so one sided in Dallas favor that no one would ever make the trade.

Dallas will not trade Dirk. Dirk is a superstar in the making. If I had Dirk, I would not trade him for C-Web. That's bold, but can you name me another 21 yr old that has a PAR of 30? I won't even count that he is 7-0 and shoots 40% from 3pt land.

Say hello to the next PF, point-foreward. No problems w/ the entry pass and gotta guard him at the top of the key.

I challenge this board: Can anyone name someone 21 and a PAR of 30?

I think it was the Musers the morning after the trade. I talk w/ guys from the ticket every day. I am a sponser of the Bikini Girl contest and love The Ticket. I couldn't find anything on the web sight, but have called some people to find out.

Crash, you might know my source, but I won't say b/c he is a cool guy.

I am gonna see what Tim Mathews thinks tonight, so check him out @ 11pm. Its a new show, no Hot Spot (do you believe anythin DR says), but pretty good for late night

Are you gonna be @ the Rocks game Saturday?

David Robinson is a liar but funny as hell. I like Tim but don't agree with his stance on Howards contract. Unfortunately I have to go out of town this weekend on family buisness. But I will watch on DirecTV.

so when the hell are the hardliners going to post last weaks disgruntled bikini chick!

Talked to Tim last night, but he wasn't much help. It continues to sound like Dallas is out of it.

Hoop-T...I hope your source is reliable, b/c I had to take some slack for saying I had a source that said.....

I am expecting an audio sample email of our conversation so everyone can hear some Webber news. You can hear me defend you Hoop-T, so don't make me lose my street cred.

    i think the tickets sucks...

i lived in dallas long enough to know the tickets has about as much to do with sports as my grandmothers knitting class..the station is an all day gossip that doesnt talk about sports just doing stupid a$$ practical jokes in the rangers lockeroom...weak...if you want to listen to diarrehea on the radio about a bunch of dorks self promoting themselves and NEVER hardly EVER talking about sports then the ticket is for you...

their sports takes are 'finley's great' or 'pudge can really play' they state nothing that is backed up with fact and I tried so hard to like the station but I dont really want to listen to a bunch of dorks talk about tommy lee's ***** size....

that greggo guy is a freaking joke and i cant stand his redneck accent anyway...

sorry colby i couldnt resist..i almost called the show one time as I was moving out of town just to tell them how much their radio show sucked but i have more worthy things to do..

by the way the mavs may have a better record but i would put down as much money as I could if the rockets played them in the playoffs.. the mavs arent going anywhere...they will always be the rockets b*tch..

You sure seem to know an awfull lot about the ticket for someone that thinks the station sucks. I wonder why that is. I guess thats why their is a dial on the radio. Don't like it try another station.

Don't look at the Ticket as just a typical sports station. Thank of it as guys entertainment based on sports. They do talk a lot of sports, but they try to break it up with things like the 'disgruntled bikini' chick (usually takes up about 10 minutes of time) or 'the over cuser' (hallarius). Norm Hitzges is probably the most sports intensive show on the air followed by Bob and Dan (Bad Radio).

The Tickets morning show 'The Musers' and their afternoon show 'The Hardline' are the highest rated radio shows (fm or am) of their time slots in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. All the shows spend at least 40 minutes an hour on sports (some avg more). The rest of the time they are just having fun. Depending on what is happening in sports sometimes the whole day is sports intensive. But we both know there are days where there is just not a lot to talk about with out rehashing the same **** over and over. Thats where the other stuff comes in.

Anyway, The Ticket is a huge improvement over what we had before they came along. Norm Hitzges (now with the ticket) in the morning and Randy Gallaway at night and very little else.

Remember try not to look at it as only sports (its not meant to be), look at it as guys entertainment on the radio.

They have a cool websight to, www.theticket.com if anyone is curious about them. You can listen in over the internet also.

You don't have to defend me....like I said, I am not sure of the validity of it, but it certainly sounded reasonable. Certainly, Dallas would have to give up one of the big three, Finley, Nash, or Dirk to make it happen. But you never know....it could be one of those situations where the Kings want to get SOMETHING for him rather than let him walk.

I always thought he would have a hard time going to play for Don Nelson again, but it was also brought to my attention that he may not be the head coach much longer anyway.

I backed you up Hoop-t b/c I would LIKE to think that some posts on this board have cred behind them. You may have some, or not. I don't post things in print that I can't back up.

Oh yea, McGrady is the only other 21 yr old that has a par of 30. That's nice company.
