My mobile carrier is Verizon and I'm pretty happy with one exception.... the voicemail. I got a message today (Wednesday) that was sent on Saturday. This is not all that unusual with my service. Does any mobile carrier have first-rate (or even second-rate) voicemail service?
I hear ya. I have Verizon, too. Sometimes if I'm in a place with no service, after I leave the area, the voicemail doesn't come till WAY later. Also, if I leave it off and then turn it back on, the phone will have nothing on it. Then, I'll go to dial a number and voicemails and texts will just randomly appear from a lot earlier. Verizon is still good, though, for the most part otherwise.
My problem with Verizon voicemail...and all may be like this...is all the crap you have to listen to before actually getting a message. Say I have 2 new messages. First I have to listen to it say, "You have 2 new messages and [x] saved message." Plus, if I have some messages marked for deletion, then I have to hear those messages. Granted, you can push the appropriate buttons and get past it all somehow... BUT, usually I check my voicemail when it says I have a message, so I don't need to hear it tell me I have a message and all that other crap. Just say, "1st message, date, time...message"
Does Sprint deliver voice messages immediately? Verizon's VM delivery is not prompt at all. The coverage area is great; I live inbetween 3 significant cites. I was previouslly with AT&T and couldn't get a signal on my own srreet... I've considered going with my mobile as a primary business contact but am hesitatnt because of the message delivery problems.
That is weird, I currently have Sprint and don't have problems like this, other than a rare exception once and a while...But I also had AT&T for a few years and never had any problems like this on a regular basis. Maybe it is just a problem unique to you for some reason? Have you complained to Verizon?
verizon and sprint will give you trouble with voice mail notification as they are CDMA carriers. GSM carriers like Cingular and Tmobile will work better in that regard
