I am as big of a Rockets fan as anyone else. And I have been to A LOT of sporting events. This Compaq Center is so dull during games. No one cheers, no one helps the team get excited. I think the drummers are sort of annoying, but at least they get the crowd going... At both the Hawks and Knicks game, the guy sitting next to me, told me to scream less and not be as loud! What the heck is that? Why do they hand out those noisemakers only in the Second Half? Those things should be waving from the beginning of the game. I don't think Houston fans realize how much noise can screw the visiting team up, and HELP the home team! COME ON HOUSTON, LET's get LOUD!!! It worked REALLY well in the Hornets game, and we need to be a good home crowd. Thanks for the supporting the Rockets!

They were around 3000 short of a sell-out.

I agree with sonalikumar 100%! If people argue, I would just say go home and watch the game if you want peace and quiet. When I go, I am usually the only one saying anything at all in our section and I am most of the time in the cheap seats. I know it doesnt make a difference if I scream by myself in the cheap seats but for me, its just part of going to the game. The Pacers game had to be the most participation I have ever had as a fan in a game. I may look like an idiot most of the time but its all for the right reasons.

Well I can say this when the Rockets gave the Fans a reason to get loud they did... Rockets had a full house for the knicks and blew it. My assessment was although for the most part the fans sat down but when given a reason to get up and scream they did just that. I think the fans will become better in the new stadium and shout more when they have more reasons to. Just being fair when the Rockets rallied, it got loud. Funny thing is, why do College games always seem louder then professional games???

I have had the same experience. My bud and I stand up to cheer most good plays and the people behind us ask us to sit down. I was fairly shocked. We traded seats with them so we were not blocking their view, but then they complained they could hear us talk to much. (Actually the more legit complaint as I use cuss words instead of adjectives) That was about four or five years ago. Now I mostly sit, but do stand to cheer when it is actually exciting.

Beleive it or not, this year's crowd is very much improved over previous years as far as enthusiam is concerned.

Moreso in the past, but during the exciting times, I notice that basically everybody downstairs is standing and basically everybody upstairs is sitting. Since I stick out, guess where my seats are.

Since the new arena is to have the highest percentage of lower bowl seats in the league, I ame hoping that it will lead to more standing and cheering.

The crowd waits and waits until the Rockets make a comeback to get into it... I'm into it from the very beginning.

I will never understand these people...
