Give the Man a Chance! Cato has been injured like most. and when he comes on HE's On FIRE!! Can anyone say ALLEY OOPS? Everyone be honset tell me the truth. Everyone knows Cato has potential, But with the type of contract we signed with him, We thought we was going to get immediate results. So lets end this Cato Debate Once and for ALL!Lets take a Poll. Is it Cato you "REALLY" want to get rid of.. Or His FAT 43 Million Dollar Contract? Or Both? Explain Why Please..

Worse things could happen than having Cato on the roster at the start of next season...

Like your testicle could get caught in your hip joint and get squashed. That would suck.

If Cato could average 13, 9 and 2.5 he would easily exceed his contract's cost. For six million, I'm thinking 8, 8 and 2 and alot of growling. Constant drool and trashtalking will cost you about another 4 million or more. I think he's not too far off.

Cato may have been injured, but he is a slacker and has not put any effort to improve, even his shot blocking which is his only strong point has gone down from last year.Trading him will be no easy task, but with the new rules, maybe the Timberwolves might take him because they don't have a first round pick till 2003.

Cato only brings it once a year. I don't know if last year's injury, coupled with Hakeem's change of heart and solid play, messed with his head. If we're stuck with him, we need him to wake the hell up and earn his contract.

But maybe a trade was already worked out and we just need the off-season to consummate the deal. Remember at the trade deadline, we offered Cato/Walt and this year's #1 picks and the Chicago obligation to the Bulls for Brand? That makes no sense if you don't know how the lottery will shake out. I'd make that offer for a top 3 draft pick, though, considering we could use the cap space.

Tooqg, All alleyoops require is that you jump so that your hands are above the rim. Doesn't impress me at all. If he could develop real offensive skills like a fallaway jumper, jump hook, and maybe a drop step, then some might get excited. But I do agree, I want to give him one more season. We will just pick up more deadweight for him.

Achebe, I had the misfortune to read that post in the hangout. If you bring it up again, I'll come down there and poison every fishing hole in Utah.

"Any time you start to hate Cato, just remember his blocks of Shaq last year."

Anytime I think he has potential I start to think of his performances the last 2 years.

I would like to see Cato here for one more season. I would like the capspace, but i want to see if he can prove him self worth keeping. Hey ZRB, that is what i do when i do start to feel that Cato is nothing. I just remember those games and the blocks he gave Shaq. one of my favorites was when he blocked Shaq with about a min left, and the rockets ran the ball and Francis scored and then Shaq got the ball again this time and Cato was all over him and Shaq commited an offensive foul by shoving his shoulder into Cato. Man that was great....hmmmm....I would like to see more of that. [IMG]

Catos contract is not that big, relatively speaking. It is not like he is making the max. If ha can stay healthy and get legitimate starters minutes I could see him getting 10 and 10 with over 1 block per game. He just needs to concentrate on defense and rebounding because Cat always feeds him for the alley-oop. He should have no problem getting ten points off of easy dunks.
