The rockets have a difficult desicion ahead of them. Mobley is a free agent and he really wants to start, but we all agree that it is better for the rockets to start Shandon Anderson for his defense. Mobely can't matchup with the bigger twos in the league like Eddie Jones and Kobe Bryant. Shandon plays defense 100%. Also if the Rockets sign Mobley and promise him a starting job and move Anderson to the SF spot, that would destroy their chances of signing Rashard Lewis, who is a future star. I think they should go for Rashard or Austin Croshere and plug one of them into the SF position, even though Croshere can play PF. They could fill the position in the draft, but I think Lewis and Croshere are better than anyone that will be available for them in this year's draft.

What chance would we be destroying? We have zero chance of signing Lewis as a free agent and our chances are next to nothing at getting him in a sign and trade.

Austin obviously, although wither one would be nice, but the chances of getting either are very slim. Both appear to be a lock to sign for their current team.

Sorry LiL Stevie ..... But where did that come from? In published reports and aired interviews both during the end of the year and immediately following the season, Mobes has said he wants to be part of the Rockets organization ".... in any role they want me...". His contenious issues with his contract was:

    1. annual reimbursement commensurate with his market value and ...

    2. a term equal to his friend Steve's length of contract.

He appears well aware his bench strength helps the team enormously. Understandably, Mobes does not want his PT cut any further, but a starting spot, clearly is not a make or break signing issue.
