Canadian Steve Nash is a virtual certainty to be named to the league's all-NBA team.

    <img src="http://en.chinabroadcast.cn/mmsource/image/2005-5-18/nash.jpg">
Steve Nash, the first Canadian to be chosen the NBA's MVP, is a virtual certainty to be named to the league's all-NBA team.

The result is to be announced Wednesday.

Nash finished in voting for the MVP just ahead of Miami's giant centre Shaquille O'Neal, who is also expected to be honoured with a selection.

On May 8, Nash became just the second point guard in the last 40 years to receive the MVP. Nash is the floor general of the Phoenix Suns.

This would be Nash's first first team selection. He has twice made the third team.

Others that may be selected include the NBA scoring champion Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks <b>as well as Tracy McGrady of the Houston Rockets.</a>

Not sure where Duncan is, but I have to admit that is a pretty strong starting five.

4 times of POW. Tmac ties with AI. So if this is reasonable selection, both of them should be on the list.

Dirk had a much better regular season than TD, and the all NBA team honors best performers in the regular season.

I'm sure. Duncan was injured a lot this year. I wonder if you guys are just holding a bit of animosity towards Dirk for being on the team that knocked us out of the playoffs. He had an incredible regular season. And no, holyMark, he's not better than Duncan, but that doesn't mean he didn't have a better season this year.

NONONO£¬give me a break£¬I don't hate Dirk at all£¬though his team beat us£¬I just wanna talk about the truth£¬even this season¡£

Duncan just missed 16 games this year, most at the end of the season, too much?popo need his superstar play postseason.

Yes, Dirk had a geart season than ever, but not enough.

Dirk had a great regular season, but he played like a wussy in the playoffs. He was outplayed by TMac and Yao in the Dallas/Houston series by a mile.

Ray Allen on the 2nd team above Tmac? There's a joke if there ever was one. This was one of Tmac's best all-around seasons in his career, and he gets 3rd team? A joke. Ray Allen, with worse stats in every category, on a team with like 4 other players playing their best ball in their careers, on a team that wins one more game than the rockets, gets on a higher team.

And Yao not making it is also bogus. He should have been 2nd team last year, and now they don't even put him on 3rd.

HOUSTON – Today the NBA announced that Tracy McGrady earned selection to the 2004-2005 All-NBA Third Team after averaging 25.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.73 steals in his first season with Houston. This marks McGrady’s fifth-consecutive year to receive All-NBA honors, as he has averaged over 25 points in each of these seasons. The sixth All-NBA recipient in Rockets history led Houston to 51 wins this season, matching the team’s fifth-best record in franchise history.

This past season, McGrady became the first player in Rockets history to reach 2,000 points, 400 rebounds and 400 assists in a season, joining Hakeem Olajuwon, Moses Malone and Elvin Hayes with the only 2,000-point seasons in franchise history. The 25-year old guard/forward posted the highest scoring average by a Rockets newcomer since Hayes with San Diego during the 1968-69 season. The eight-year veteran scored a Rockets individual season-high 48 points on Dec. 2 at Dallas, marking one of his six 40-point efforts. He reached 30 points 25 times, as Houston held a 22-3 record in these games. Among NBA leaders, McGrady ranked sixth in scoring average, seventh in steals per game and tied for 18th in assists per game, as he led Houston in each of these categories and set career highs in assists and steals. The 6-8, 210-pound swingman became the first player in Rockets history to earn Player of the Week recognition four times in a season and played in his fifth-straight All-Star Game. In the playoffs, McGrady joined Olajuwon as the only Rockets to ever average over 30 points in a postseason, as his 30.7 points per game trailed only Allen Iverson among NBA leaders.

McGrady holds career averages of 22.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.38 steals and 1.10 blocks in 565 games with Toronto, Orlando and Houston. He joined the Rockets on June 29, 2004, in a seven-player trade with Orlando, where he earned selection to the All-NBA First Team twice and the All-NBA Second Team twice. In 2004, McGrady led the NBA in scoring average for the second-straight season, posting 28.0 points per game to earn All-NBA Second Team honors. During the previous season, his career-high 32.1 points per game scoring average helped him receive All-NBA First Team recognition. He also earned All-NBA First Team selection in 2002 after averaging 25.6 points. In 2001, McGrady received the NBA's Most Improved Player award and All-NBA Second Team recognition by averaging 26.8 points in his first season in Orlando.

I don't like to see these stories, polls and awards dissing Mac.
On the other hand, this will assure us that he's not gonna be satisfied and come back hungry next year.

I guess Tracy's just not in the marketing gameplan for the league this year. Oh well, maybe he'll get his number called next season.

ridiculous that T-Mac wasnt listed as a G/F (I believe he was a few years back when he made the first team) he has more votes than Allen, he should be on the 2nd team. thats pretty weak what they did to him, but i dont care too much because i dont think tracy does either. he probably just wants to make first team and if he doesnt it just motivates him to try harder next season.
