To me, the reason the dunk contest has waned in popularity is not only because of mediocre contestants, but because there are no new dunks under the sun.

We know from the '00 contest that Steve favors the bounce and catch dunks.

What new dunks would you like to see in Philly?

I wonder if he can dunk it from the freethrow line.

How about a running forward flip for the slam to get it started (ala Turbo, without the trampoline).

Next, have Cato stand in front of the basket & have Steve give him a facial for the dunk. :D

Next, have Steve take off from the free throw line & do a 900 degree (that's 2 1/2 turns) spin in the air for the reverse slam.

Finally, Cat tosses the alley-oop above the backboard, Steve goes up, does a reverse slam & ends up sitting on the rim.

Now, if he only had the time to practice them.

Hows about this one.... Steve Francis skies in the air then does a windmill w/ the basketball in his two hands, around the rim itself then slams it in.

How about going baseline - taking off right before the goal - pushing off the glass with his free hand - flying by the rim - dunking it on the other side.

    How about a 360 degree windmill ?

Has anyone ever done a double bounce off the backboard?

He throws it off the board, jumps and catches it in the air while throwing it a 2nd time just above the rim--a do it yourself alley oop...

I'd like to see him go up with one arm, then switch the ball over to the other arm and then dunk it. Kind of like MJ's layup against LA in the 91 Finals.

    i actually like gypsy idea...

steve could stand at the free throw line ala kenny smith, bounce it between his legs and follow it to the goal just as kenny did...

jump really really really high, get the ball after it bounces of the backboard with two hands and then retouch the backboard with the ball and slam it down.

A little twist... Throw it in the air and have it bounce up then while starting your jump throw it off the backboard real fast and dunk it.

I would like a throw it in the air, jump and get it while doing a 360 in the air and simultaneously rotating the ball around your back, then dunk it.

On a side note: Is anyone else a little board by Turbo's dunk's?They are often the same. I think it would be cool for him to move the trampoline out farther, close to the three point line, and just see how far he can fly on that thing.

y'all do realize most of these dunks are impossible right.

that being said, i'd like to see a 1080, double windmill, throw it off the backboard, go between the legs while wearing a blindfold dunk.

How about a dunk incorporating some foreplay... Steve performs a minute-long dribbling/crossover/through the shirt exhibition (Nike ad style) before lobbing the ball off the backboard for a right hand tomahawk.

Anybody see the near-dunk Steve did tonight where he pulled his legs up to the rim? He could've ended up hanging upside down on that dunk... too bad he was fouled on the play. I don't think I've ever seen anybody end up with their feet on the rim like that before...

I want to see Cat throw an alley oop from beyond the halfcourt line, kind of like a QB, while Steve wears a Terps football jersey.
Steve can play WR and go for a long one.
