I have the feeling the only skull bashing you do is in your notebooks full of second-rate drawings. Who could possibly be afraid of you, even an injured dog? You get beat up a lot at school, don't you? Get a date, or a friend, and find a different hobby. Negative attention may be attention, Junior, but it's still negative. If you do tell them to cough up $250, I hope they have proof it is their dog and call the police. I am sure once law enforcement arrives, you will gladly surrender the dog without any fees or fuss! People like you and Phong are so ignorant its unreal![/rquoter]
"this dog is lucky that i dont bash his skull in for being a pain in my ass and so are you" One of the most powerful quotes I've ever come across... I damn near collapsed to the floor laughing like a hyena. The Internet is the most glorious invention ever presented to mankind. **** like this makes my day, man.
The dog was found posting on a bbs? ... Seriously, though, I think the guy does have the right to ask compensation for expenses incurred because of the dog as a quasi-contract.
That's the same thing that went through my mind when I read the thread title. Of course he does. He has the right to ask for $10 if he spent $10 on food. The guy is asking for $250, though.
He was probably the one who ran over the dog with his car in the first place, then tried to make money off of it.
Thats it? I'm very disappointed since its coming from craigslist. I did lol at the fact that someone wants the police called because he's asking for a large reward and is being an ass online, about it.
my sister was over at my moms a few years ago w/ her chihuahua and it got out into their columbian neighbors yard. one of their low-life friends was over - he took the dog and went back to his house w/ her on the other side of houston. he called my sister and demanded money for the dog. my sisters husbands dad is a narcotics detective so they set up a "sting" - went and met the guy in a parking lot and when he demanded cash to get the dog back my bro-in-law gave a "signal" and his dad and some of his buddies came out and arrested the guy. turns out he was an illegal alien who was wanted in a few home invasions - he got turned over to INS and deported.
Ehh...he takes it a bit far when he says the dog is lucky that he doesn't bash its skull in, and when he admits that the dog is injured but won't do anything about it. Probably not warranted to call the cops, but Animal Control? Sure.
And PHONG has to be dragged into this... WHY, CRUEL WORLD, WHYYYYY!!!!??!!?!? So all this was in Washington, District of Columbia?
Dog's are considered property correct? Does a person have the right to find my property and require payment to return it to me? If I lost my car keys in a parking lot and someone found them could he require me to pay him to get them back? What if it was a child? Could he require me to pay him to get my child back?
Why don't one of you just go and get the freaking dog right now? Go in a group, and when you get there give him $10. More important than calling him a douche or calling the police is actually making sure the dog is ok ASAP. Better yet, call some animal rights protection agency and direct them to this guy.
Yeah, but... come now. You don't feed or "take care of" keys, and a dog isn't even remotely close to a child in the nurturing or care department, is what I mean. That was a sure way to get a "no" to your initial answer. In the realm of pets and "taking care of them", it's completely different.
No to my answer? I was asking a question about the law. I want the correct answer, whatever that may be. Does finding property belonging to someone else give you a legal right to demand payment for them to recoup it?
