Lachard Binkley and Vator or joined by the longtime voice of the Rockets, Craig Ackerman, to discuss: Rockets offseason moves Summer League Expectations for next season Some of his iconic game calls
What he says about KPJ is what I suspected also. I think people are too hard on KPJ as a person. A lot of negative talk about his character. KPJ has been out of trouble for a while. I heard he's getting married soon. People around the organization are saying it's really pleasant to be around KPJ. Say what you want about his on court play and being misplaced as a pg, but dude has done genuine growth as a person and people should probably lay off the "character issues" talk about the dude.
To @vator , Thank you for tipping the cap to Craig Ackerman on Lachard's podcast. It sounded like you were doing it for all of us Craig fans and Rockets fans out there. Craig deserves a lot of accolades for what he's done and doing. Such a nice man. I've tweeted stuff to him during a game and he's replied while working. I don't believe that's an every day thing. You're a class act for saying what you said. Rooting for all three of you. All three of you are pure fans. Keep on keeping on. You're a class act. -Don G
It was a very good interview — well done. His comments on KPJ’s personality were interesting. It is a shame that believing in him now puts one on the same side as @Bobbythegreat , who might be the worst poster in any forum, ever. Also very good to hear his enthusiasm regarding Ime - to us he’s still an unknown, but Craig has seen him up close and seems impressed. Again, good interview!
Craig knows ball. He said Sengun was the Rockets' best player last season, KPJ second, Tari Eason third. Clearly, that means Jalen and Jabari were (at best) 4th and 5th best...need these two to improve a lot this year.
Ya I definitely disagreed with him on that. He knows ball but two people who know ball can come to different conclusions. I don't think Akerman was accounting for role and burdens given a long with Tari's on/off numbers being inflated by playing against mostly bench units. How would Tari perform being the number one game planned for player by opposing defenses sand playing against only starting units? Probably not that well. Probably really bad. He was already less efficient than Jalen
Perhaps the only reason you are upset about me telling you the truth is because you have such bad takes that don't stand up to scrutiny. Did you ever consider that? Craig Ackerman didn't say anything that shouldn't have been fairly obvious to anyone who pays attention and knows what they are seeing when they watch.
Great job! I’ve always like Ackerman. A couple nuggets that were interesting to me: He really likes KPJ; “sweet kid” I completely agreed with his candid ranking of our top 3 players last year: 1) Sengun 2) KPJ 3) Tari it’s was great to hear how long he’s been with the rockets; I didn’t realize that he went all the way back to the mid 90’s. People can like him or dislike him, but no one can say he hasn’t paid his dues. Lastly, didn’t know about that Jalen interview Vator referenced, but I’m glad to hear that. Jalen has to be all about business this offseason. great job as always guys!
It doesn't. Craig said he's a really sweet guy. He didn't say he will be the team's star who belongs at PG and is better than Jalen and shares zero blame for lacking PG vision and anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron kid who needs a basketball education. Those are different things.
I didn't even realize how much I wish this would happen until I saw this! Not gonna happen, but a boy can have his dreams!
