Murdering women and children and civilians at work...whoever you are, you have died a coward's death, no matter if you may think that God wants you to kill yourself and innocents to prove your devotion.

There may not be 'definitive' proof...but I think most know who did this.

If it is bin Laden, he has been quoted as saying that he and his group or network of international terrorists, Al Quaida, will not differentiate between Americans in military uniforms or civilians. We are all his target.

Supposedly there is a 5 million dollar bounty on his head.

Fine...attack the Pentagon, that is a military installation.

But using a commercial jet with innocents? Use 3 other jets and attack innocents at work?

    cowards.

That is one of the thing that pisses the crap out of me. Innocent people are the ones that suffer the most due to politics.

I've been listening to different personalities, from Gingrich, the Rev. Franklin Graham, and they all said go in and take Laden out. He doesn't want to differentiate between the military and civilians, well the U.S. can play that game. September 11th, 2001, somebody signed their death certificate with those cowardly attacks.

    Who is protecting Bin Laden?

    Afghanistan, the country?

    I've heard the Taliban.

    What exactly do they do?

The Taliban is the governmental entity that controls most of Afghanistan.

On the front page of The Australian newspaper, there was a picture of what was left of the WTC towers, and in big words there was : THEY'LL PAY FOR THIS

Could it be any more true?

Supposedly, the intended target was the White House. Is that considered a civilian target? A White House in flames would have totally demoralized this country, IMO. Civilian loss of life is totally unacceptable, but I also feel the loss of highly trained Pentagon personnel is as bad. These people were military experts with probably many, many years of service and knowledge. We could've used these people to find those evil bastards and bring them to justice.

I don't know about other cities, but NYC has around the clock coverage on pretty much every channel. Giuliani seems really shaken by the whole thing (as observed by his on-air appearances).

Strangely enough, B* posted an article in which Bin Laden made reference to our dropping the bomb on Japan a couple of times.

Doesn't he see the difference, at all? We're right. They're wrong.

    Achebe,

2 wrongs do not make a right.

As for Hiroshima, I was not there, and only know what I have read in history books, and seen on the history channel

I will refrain from judging those people as I can not rightfully ascertain the circumstances of that war.

    Dresden also comes to mind.

I completely agree. I'll even add that a third wrong will only belabor the point.

My only intent in responding to this thread was to make the point that terrorists are not alone in the war against the innocent. Our foreign policy routinely kills the innocent. When we do it we're making a stand, or making a point... or worse humans become numbers (or even jokes according to some of the Persian Gulf footage) when terrorists do it to us we quickly wake up and recognize it for the attrocity that it is.

    Achebe,

I don't think anyone here makes light of the casualties that we inflict on others, I don's see anyone dancing in the streets when we bomb factories in Tunisia etc.

War is hell, and there are no real winners, but when you are blantently attacked, you have to respond.

You can not let cowards get away with terrorism, and there may be collatoral damage, and I will pray for the innocent there too.

    Mabye not.

But two wrongs may prevent 3, 4, or 5 more wrongs.
