Griffin obviously is more about athleticism. Cousins utilizes his skill more often. Who do you think will have the best career when it's all said and done. Again, Griffin is better at this point but who do you think will end up having the BETTER career?
VERY tough. I voted Cousins because he is a better post player with good moves. So far, Griffin just looks like a highlight reel with great rebounding ability. It's tough though, if Grif learns post moves, he will be something very special.
LOL at the people that choose Cousins...I mean, seriously? WTF is wrong with you? Why does everyone say Griffin is a highlight reel? You obviously have not seen a Clippers game. Until you do you should not vote...seriously....
This is for all the 'youngins' that are posting in this thread about Cousins...there have been a LOT of FAT 'skilled' guys come in the this league and pretty much all of them have done well in the beginning but ended up busts because of their lack of discipline and conditioning. Cousins is going down that same road except he's a headcase to boot. That's not a good combination.
Griffin. Right now, he is playing like the PHX Amar'e Stoudemire...without the Steve Nash. Pretty soon, he'll become NYK Stoudemire; freaky athleticism, but with a more toned all around game. It's a scary thought when Griffin learns to shoot consistently from 15-18 feet.
Why is this a question? Cousins is on his way to becoming the Eddy Curry/Jerome James of this generation. Griffin looks like Amare pre-injury. Even if Griffin ends up blowing his knee out I still see him becoming a shane-battier like role player because of his attitude, high iq and consistent effort. I think Cousins has a 60% chance of eating himself out of the league.
i dont think it's that clear cut in Griffin's favor...i would say it's more likely that cousins get's his **** straight than Griffin developing a jumper. The difference between cousins and all these other headcases is that they don't have the skills yet, so they have to get their mind right AND still develop them to have game. Probably too much for them to overcome mentally. Cousins already has a nice foundation and just needs to polish his game, so it'll be easier for him. I think their second year will be more telling than their first...teams need a season to scout them and adjust their game plan completely. We'll see how well they counter once the league knows what they are about.
I'll go with Cousins... The Cousins haters are just speaking out of ignorance and hatred.. Look I love Blake Griffin's game too, but speaking long term, give me Cousins. His overall game (which doesn't rely on athleticism) is built for the long haul. He is one of the most 'skilled' bigs to ever come out of the draft. I mean seriously its very rare to find his combination of skills (great passer, ability to dribble drive, shooting range, overall handles, foot work, High BBall IQ, etc.) and physical tools (quick feet, sheer power, physicality, size and length(6'11/ 7'6 wingspan/ 9'5 standing reach)) and also have a tough "never back down" mentality...
Griffin. This guy has all the talent in the world and all the character in the world. As they say: "it takes talent to get to the top, and character to stay there."
Barring injury, I predict that Griffin will revolutionize the PF position, just as Karl Malone did and Tim Duncan afterwards. He truly is something special and once he actually learns how to play, develops a consistent outside shot and becomes a defensive presence, he will be an unstoppable force. Now if he can only avoid the Clipper curse...
Make this poll 1 week ago and Cousins gets his votes cut in half..but anyway I'll go with the guy who already has pretty good basketball IQ to go along with freak athleticism. Cousins will probably be a good player but has a lot to learn.
are we talking in terms of longevity or stats per year? I think Cuz will have a longer career than Griffin, but Griffin will have better stats/per
Cousins weight certainly isn't keeping him from running the floor and looking mobile out there. His weight issue is so overblown at this point. Half the people making these comments about him probably only watched him against Houston.
