I say we offer JH an mike james for radmanovich and cash. This would give them a legit back up to luke and a starting PF. We would then move wesley and weatherspoon for a backup for sura. our line up: Ming/Mutombo Swift/Radmanovich/Baxter Radmanovich/Mcgrady/Bowen Mcgrady/Barry/Head Sura/?/Head There lineup: Robert Swift/ Johan petro J-ho/Fortson Lewis Allen Luke/James I would really like to see Radmanovich in Rocket's RED next season and would do anything along as it doesn't screw with the big three so what ideas do u have?
1) Radman wants to go where he can start, to the point he's ready to do what Swift did, and sign a one year deal, and become an unrestricted FA. He wouldn't start here ahead of Swift or McGrady, and we traded Jim Jackson for the express purpose of moving McGrady to the 3. He doesn't want to play the two, nor does JVG want him to. 2) Seattle likes him and wouldn't want to send him to a conference competitor. 3) No one wants to touch JHo right now, due to his heart condition. I do agree that Radman is a young and upcoming talent who I'd love to get on our team. I just don't see the fit at this point. I think we're better off getting someone like Eric Williams to back up McGrady, and perhaps Finley to play the 2. The one team who might take JHo is CHI, since he's from there, and they've long sought him, and I'd love to take any of their guards in return. That would give us another young buck to build with ... of course, unless they'd send us Chandler (total fantasy here ... )
After making Swift our #1 offseason priority and then signing him for only the MLE, I don't see how we could trade for the Radman and give him the $8-$10MM/yr he is demanding. He wants Bobby Simmons' contract. I'd love to have him too but it won't happen. After what happened last year, I don't see T-Mac ever going back to SG for us. Bad move.
I think this whole Tmac and JVG will never have him move back to the 2 is so overblown on this board. If we land an impact SF like Marion, Peja, Rashard etc of course T-mac would move back to the SG. I don't care what happened last year, JVG has shown if anything that he can be flexible with his lineups i.e. putting Cato at the PF, or going small with T-mac at the PF. Sliding T-mac over to the frontcourt was the right move last year, and it work out for us. But that doesn't mean that he'll never play SG again. It would just take the right guy to move him back. Is Radman the right guy. I doubt it. With his defensive liabilities and tweenerness, he's probably better coming off the bench for a team like us. And he's looking for a lot more than 6th man money. But if Marion or Mike Miller becomes availiable for expiring contracts, we would be fools to pass them up just because of this notion that T-mac CANNOT play the SG. He can play the SG and if it's better for the team, then he should play it as well.
Here's the deal. On offense, TMac plays at the top. That's SG. On defense he plays SF because he has the size and quickness to match up with the SFs and it is easier for him to defend them than to defend the SG. We need a swing man that will run around the perimeter and has very good defensive skills to pester the SGs and who doesn't need to dominate the ball to score on offense. Marion does not fit here. He cannot guard the perimeter SGs well enough and he makes way too much money. Miller may fit here but I doubt it. Miller is one of the few players that West wants to build around and I question his defensive perimeter ability.
OK, IF we get a player like Shawn Marion or Mike Miller, T-Mac could move to SG. But it's barely worth discussing because it won't happen. It's much more likely our future upgrades come in the backcourt which will keep T-Mac at SF where he belongs. Everyone has their opinion, but I think moving T-Mac back to SG on a full-time basis would be a very big deal, on defense.
LOL, I think what he meant is: Somebody who can score without having any plays called for him ala Swift in Memphis, Marion in Phoenix, Ben Wallace in Detroit and spot up shooters (like Wesley and Barry)
