I've seen this guy play, and he has better handles than any other pg in the draft. Before he got into trouble in school he was rated one of the best point guards in the nation. At 6'4 he could give Moochie a run for his money for the backup position. Also he would be a lot cheeper.
I just hope he doesn't start pick up Moochie's habit of waiving everybody off and calling an iso for himself at the top of the key....
I was just impressed with the 8 assists that he averaged per game. And if what they say about him is true......"pass first, shoot second".......then he's a perfect fit for this team since we have so many that like to shoot.
The Mooch has to be worried. This guy , according to the write-ups is a true PG with serious passing skills. That is one thing our team does not have at the moment. All 3 of our picks will probably turn out to be our 3 best passers on the team.
In a word...yes. Maddox could be a steal, if not the steal of the draft. Had he not made himself ineligible (improper dealings with an agent I believe) he may have gone near the top of the draft. He has the potential to be a good PG.
I would be Glad to have Tito replace both Moochie and Tierre. And from I have read, he is a serious candidate. Finally we have our true PG!: low turnovers and high assists numbers. He should bring quality minutes behind Steve.
Don't think anyone should get too excited. Mooch ain't going nowhere. Nobody is stupid enough to take him off our hands and have to pay him 20+ mill over the rest of his contract. As good as Tito may be, he probably will be brought along real slowly as the 3rd guard getting spot minutes. If anyone should be worried about Tito it should be Tierre. I think this pick guarantees Tierre will have to beat him out in camp to make the team.
According to many reports, Tito was far and away the best pure point guard at the Chicago camps. And remember, that is after he sat out all last season so obviously the guy has the work ethic to stay in shape and sharpen his game!
