Could the Wiz ever be an Eddie Johnson or a Ricky Pierce for this team?

Do you guys see any similarities? Do you think the Wiz could be used in a similar way once the nucleus for this team is set and the roles for the team are more established?

I see similarities. Walt will be 38 before we're championship material. [IMG]

    j/k.

I partially agree with Crisco. If Walt's not actually better than Eddie Johnson (that's a tall order) he'll at least be played more effectively... that is more than once in 5 games.

    Nope!!!!

Williams needs to prove to be consistent for more than a week. He is tooo inconsistent shooting the ball. Sure he has the ability to drive and do other things but he just is too stubborn to get out of shooting slumps with his shooting. Which is the last way to get out of a shooting slump. When you can drive, then drive it in Walt.

If Walt will agree to have a contract similar to EJ's then he could be similar.

But, EJ was clutch, and a better shooter. Walt can do somethings better than EJ, but Eddie was a 'smart' ball player, Walt hasn't shown that (to me) yet. Eddie wasn't a great defender, Walt is slightly better. But, Eddie was good at making a smart pass or sneaking in to get a rebound.

I think people around here would like Walt much more if he were just CHEAPER! His problem is there will always be fans who say we're not getting our money's worth.

When Walt Williams scores more than 18,000 points in his career, we'll start drawing comparisons to Eddie Johnson. Eddie might have been a journyman...but he was the most consistent journyman I've seen.

Walt's a very streaky player. He was ice cold for the first 50 games and now's he's heating up!
Honestly Walt is a nice player to have coming off the bench, and he would have been a perfect fit with our old offense where Dream or CB could draw double teams and kick it out for open looks.
Walt is not an all world player by any means but he is a nice option off the bench, because it is easy to tell if he is off/on after a couple shots. If he's hitting let him play, if he's off let him park it on the bench until the next game!
