Horry opted out of his option with SA to become a free agent. Any chance he could come to the Rockets for the vet minimum? I think were going deep in the playoffs next year and Horry's experience and big playmaking abilities when it counts could be invaluable. He would also be a nice link to the past championship years. Wouldn't that be something? To play on a Houston championship team in 94 and then again in 06.

I'd sign him for the minimum. He's isn't always consistent in the play-offs, but does have a knack for clutch play at the right time.

Bob is always welcome to come back.

I'd have mixed emotions about Horry coming back. But I'd love the see Horry get his 7th championship...in a Rox uniform.

The Spurs are re-signing Horry, maybe even using a chunk of their MLE to accomplish that.

The rox can't afford to use up their exception on a 15-20 mpg playoff only guy. They have other glaring holes to fill first.

Would love to pick him up, but doubt its going ot happen

btw, i dont think SA would have to use their Mid-level on him, since they own his Bird Rights correct?

I don't think so, he's only been with the spurs for two years. Takes 3 years to get bird rights.

The Spurs are said to be offering Horry a portion of their MLE (They want to give him a raise over what he made last year). They plan to use the other portion of their MLE to bring over Scola who they selected in the 2nd round of the 2002 draft. Horry has also said that he is interested in the Heat who share an interest for him.

Had the Rox gone for a young 4 in the draft then I would have been all over getting Rig Shot Rob't 'home'. But, he'll be with TD or Shaq. And his jeweler?

We don't have much of a chance, he wants the Spurs first then if that doesn't work out then the Heat. Big Shot Bob is going where the best chances of a ring is. We aren't there yet.

could have used his "big Shots" and leadership in the last game in Dallas. He may have been able to calm the team down and stop the spiral in that game the way he did fo San Antonio in game 5. i don't think if he is only good for playoffs. since in the NBA it is only playoffs that matters.
Would love to have him. Didn't he wanted to comeback when he left the lakers?
Also i think he had a problem with the Calvin Murphy (Got calvin's daughter pregnant, i think) while he was here. If i am not wrong i thought that was one of the reasons they shipped off for Sean Elliot in 93. But then again i could be imagininig it, it was a long time ago.

We probably aren't ready for a luxury like Horry. He plays little during the regular season saving himself to go all-out during the playoffs. He is strictly for title contenders and he knows it. First sight of problems at LAL and he beat feet to future champs SA. That has been his MO for the last 5 years. He has no good reason to come to the Rox yet since we are not contenders yet. We could better use people that will help get home court for the playoffs during the season.

Well said, plus Horry is going to hit the wall one of these years. Could be next year. Let him ride some more coattaills with TD and the Spurs.

I would love to have Horry finish out his career with the Rockets, but only if he agreed to play cheap. $ $

If Horry had missed his shot and Billups made his this thread wouldn't exist. Thankfully JVG seems to be a grounded and rational kinda' guy. Horry will only see the inside of Toyota Center as a visitor from another team. Good for us, okay for them. Let's get T-Mac his 1st ring before worrying about Horry's 7th. There are a lot more and better 'safe' risk than him out there. Relief and relieved.

If you followed the vote result opinions on the drafting of L. Head it's like night turning into day. At first no one could believe we passed on Simien. Now the polls are reversed 100%. Our idol chatter is usually erroneous in retrospect. Whoever they wind up with will no doubt bring down a wrath of scathing rebuttal and in time show us up for the nominal novices we truly are.

It's exciting to wonder and speculate though. Nothing will ever match the year we gave away three #1 drafts picks for Eddie Griffin. Look for rational and caution to prevail in any moves we make.
