Could the Rockets move up in the draft by offering the Clippers the following package for the #3 pick? #9 pick Bryce Drew Kenny Thomas While I don't think the Clippers would do this, they ARE still the Clippers! But really, LA may take a look at a package like that. Drew could be the point guard they are looking for. Thomas could help fill the void that will be left by Maurice Taylor's departure. Plus, with the #9 pick, the Clippers could still take Jerome Moiso from local UCLA as their power forward. With the #3 pick, the Rockets could take Stromile Swift (seeing as Mihm and Martin will likely be the top two picks). Of course, if Martin is somehow still there, we could take him. So, what do you think? ------------------
Nope. While Sterling maybe cheap and Baylor dumb, they would never do such a poor deal. Houston can't trade up because they have very little of value to do so. ------------------
I like the idea, but I would like to see us draft Fizer. Just my preference. But I know Houston is high on Swift and rightfully so. I agree with Sky Pilot, but for a different reason. I think the deal is decent for the Clips, but I don't think, as bad as they are and as many needs as they have, that they would dump a top three pick. I don't think it is because of the value of KT and Drew. But to drop to 9th when they need a young stud to bring some excitement to the team.....I don't think they do this deal. ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
I would love to get Swift and there is a reason that he has not taken an agent. Houston can be very inviting for him since he will get plenty of playing time and Francis is running the show. Drew is quite servicable at PG and would be worth something, especially to a team in need of a PG. ------------------ Houston Rockets Forever!! I also think it would be dumb but just add some fuel to the fire. Stromile is considering pulling out of the draft because of fear of the clips and he likes houston.Instead of risking picking him and having to trade him for lesser value they can get a pointguard they really like,a good rebounding power forward and with the 9th pick they chose alexander to help odom with the scoring so they have a good starting five. Just some ideas to keep the thread rolling ------------------ NEVER underestimate the heart of a champion!!!
